The best idea would be to measure your pony. You need an ordinary tape measure and you measure from the centre of his/her chest to the point of the buttock in a straight line. (I had a 14.2 pony who was 6' 6 and that is unusual - if I'd just bought average for him it wouldn't have fit so safest to measure.) How many rugs you need depends on how much you want to spend as they will quite happily spend the night in an outdoor rug if you can't spare the cash for a stable rug as well. If it's not a problem then I'd say a stable rug, a good quality turnout rug and a wicking cooler.

Q:Handmade rag rug, about 40 or 50 years old. It has gotten very dirty over the years and also has smoke smell in it. Any ideas how to clean it or what type of establishment would clean it? Thanks!

Rag Rugs are usually pretty durable, so take it to your local laundromat that has a large capacity washer (some are double loads and some even have quadruple load washers) and throw it in with some regular laundry detergent on cold. I would spin it as dry as you can in the machine and then take it home and let it air dry. It could shrink if you throw it in the dryer. It should wash up very well.

Wow that sounds just like what my puppy did,but of course they were way bigger.I really hate to contradict everyone else who answered but they were only half right. Cutting patches from inconspicuous areas is the right thing to do but using glue isn't. If it were they would install carpeting in houses using glue.You wont see that happening ever unless it was outside carpeting for a patio.Reason is it wouldn't be on there very long with traffic due to people walking on it, and use from the vacuum cleaner. The glue would not hold. That is why they sew carpet when they have to use two separate pieces to finish a room. Or to patch it. If you will be happy with the temporary fix and don't mind doing it over in about two weeks then go for it. If not you will need to sew your little patches. I sewed mine as I could not afford new carpet but couldn't stand to see it with holes in it. Either way, I hope it works out for you.

You will need about 22 yards. You can figure that by assuming that you will buy piece of carpet that is 15 feet wide (they come 12' and 15' wide-using 15' wide will avoid having to piece the carpet). 15' wide will go in one direction. You then divide the other measurement 13.5' by 3' and get 4.5'. Now divide 15' by 3' =5'. Now multiply 4.5x5=22.5. That is how many yards you will need if you get carpet that is 15' wide. Average carpet runs anywhere from $10. to $30. per yard. At $20. per yard, the carpet will cost you $450. Padding and installation will be extra. I have seen some great deals at Lowes and Home Depot adn they offer really low prices for install.

Q:im in the process of buying carpet for 2 bedrooms and hardwood for the hall and stairs. what questions should i ask the companies. i already about about install fees, haul-away fees, shoe molding (which should be wood, right?), and what they will use for transition. but what about padding? am i missing anything??? please help.thanks

There are 2 types of padding in foam. One is solid and the other is pieces recycled and glued together called re-bond. Both have good qualities, but the thickness of the pad can make a carpet feel plush and comfortable or firm like a pool table. The thicker the padding the softer the feel, like a mattress.

Q:My mother recently passed away. I had prepaid her rent for a full year. The bedroom had several stains on it and I recognize the carpet needed to be replaced, and I'm OK with paying for it. The bedroom is around 200 square feet in Connecticut. The landlord took the opportunity to replace the carpet with hardwood. He told me the carpet would have cost $600 installed but he paid extra for the hardwood out of his own pocket. The carpet that was there previously was the cheapest contractor grade material you can imagine. I have a hard time believing it cost $600 at $3 a square foot for cheap carpet installed. Should I be pressing this? I figured it would be $300 - $400, max, for similar off-white basic carpet.

What does your lease say about late fees? Is the $150 for several times you were late or just one time? Look up your state landlord-tentn law and see if that is legal. You should get things clear before you move in. If you are renting a house I would think you have to put your own trash out.
