Q:and how do I get it to work 24 hours a day?and on the pump there is written: 2 A, and on another part: 220-240 Vdoes that mean its wattage is 440-480Watt?
You are correct Amps x Volts = watts and since there are about 750 watts per Hp then you have a 2/3 Hp motor. Water pumps can be either submerged in the well bore hole or located top side. A top side well pump relies on the air around it to cool the motor. THe motor may not be rated for continuous duty (see name plate on motor) and may only be rated for a limited amount of time it can be run before it needs a cool down period. (Typically motors are rated for continuous duty) Submersible well pumps are located under water in th well and use the water in contact with the motor housing to cool them. Cooling is thus related to the water flow around the motor and the availability of water. Normal well pump usage for a home is for brief periods when water is actually being used and to maintain system pressure. So unless you are constantly watering your lawn your pump should cycle on and off as necessary. Continuous running is a sign that there is a problem such as a leak, worn pump not achieving proper pressure, or pressure switch setting or similar issue not allowing proper shutdown. If you have a submersible well pump it will be very difficult to tell when it is running unless you can hear the motor contactor open and close or have an indicator light. A properly operating water system will pressurize an accumulator storage tank (water pumped into a tank which contains an air bladder that can be compressed). Once the tank is pressurized the pump shuts off and stays off until the pressure in the tank drops. Pressure drops when you use water or if the water leaks back into the well. At which time the pump runs again and tops off the tank. So in a properly operating system shutting off the well at night won't save you much because the pump should not be running. However if you have a leak and the pump is running a lot you can secure the power to the pump at night until you can get the system repaired
Q:I am trying to replace my old water pump with a new one. I have the quot;special tooland everything but i just cant get the water pump to come loose at all. Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks
When you mean it wont come loose, do you mean you cant break the bolts loose or is the pump stuck on the motor like glue? If the bolts are stuck, try spray them with penetrating oil and let it work in for about 30 mins. If the pump is stuck, use a narrow putty knif, gently tap in between the pump and the block, and pry it off, then clean the mating surface completely to ensure the new pump seals properly.
Q:I just had the water pump replaced, now less than a week later it is overheating again and sometimes blowing cold air. What does this sound like it would be?
Unless the weep-hole is leaking on the bottom of the water-pump input shaft housing, the impeller inside the pump rarely goes bad. The impeller is the part inside the water-pump that circulates the coolant thorough the radiator, heater-core and cooling passages of the motor. There are several checks to eliminate possibilities why the cooling system is getting too hot. I wish you had told us the year, make and model of the car plus the number of miles on the odometer. If the coolant has been getting so hot that it bubbles back inside the plastic cooling system reservoir, have a private mechanic do an inexpensive cooling system pressure test to see if you have any external or internal coolant leaks. If not, have the thermostat changed with a factory original. Always check and refill the radiator when the motor is stone cold. Fill the plastic cooling system reservoir 3/4 full when ever you remove the radiator pressure cap. If you or someone has ever mixed chemical types of antifreeze other than the factory recommended brand or type it will eventually plug-up your cooling system and cause it to overheat. It may be necessary to drain, flush and clean the system with a one part acid cleaner. If you haven't in the past had your coolant drained and flushed every three years and your car is 12 years old or older get ready to buy a new radiator. They're easy to install and they're not too expensive these days because they come from Mexico or off-shore suppliers. Keep this in mind: The higher the percentage of antifreeze in the coolant the less efficient the cooling system becomes. Antifreeze is an insulator of heat transfer. That's why race cars don't use it! If this statement is hard to believe, Look up Stewart Water Pumps on the net. They'll tell you that pure water is the best coolant to use for heat transfer purposes. In the real world we can't do that because of temperature fluctuations.
Q:There are heard buzzing, but can not move and no death card, is not a bad capacitor, how much is the direct standard capacitance it?
The home pump does not turn, but the motor is energized:A: there are heard buzzing, but can not move and no death card. It is likely that the boot capacitor is broken and that the capacitor can be measured with a universal meter. Two: if the motor is sure to have electricity, check whether there is low voltage or broken phase (three-phase motor). These conditions also cause the motor not to rotate, or the speed is low (easy to block), so it should be measured with a universal meter.Three: you can smell there is no burning flavor, may be motor winding interphase short-circuit. Bearings should be hard to break, and it's probably not good to find repairs. If the capacitor is replaced, it is better to choose the same capacitor as the original configuration parameter. If the capacitor is damaged and does not know or can not see the mark parameter, it can be calculated and matched according to the following formula:In C=8JS (F), the capacitance of the C- is S- (F). The current density of the starting winding of J- motor is generally selected from 5 to 7A/ (mm) 2, and the cross section area (mm2) of the starting winding winding. Generally, you can choose 1000W/40 F.
Q:My dad bought a boat this winter and when we got it we watched the guy winterize it. He was doing this white it was running on muffs. We got the boat to run today (on muffs) but no water was coming out the pee hole. This is the first boat we have owned. We are rookies. We also don't to take it to a dealer. Is there anything we're doing wrong? I don't know for sure what year the motor is i think a 1900 something. It is 90 horse.
only replace the water impellor and housing -do no longer replace and hoses or tubes till you ought to. If the undertaking remains there after then inspect hoses. does the engine over warmth or is the water tension only low? despite if it is barely low then you definately have not have been given a blockage interior the engine possibly only the piss hose. ninety 9% hazard the recent impellor will fix it..do nto make greater artwork for your self.
Q:My car was is leaking antifreeze. One guy told me without even l putting it up in the air to check it that it was the radiator. The second guy I took it to said it is the water pump. He told me a total of six hundred sixty one dollars to replace it. I went to pep boys and was told eight hundred sixty two. I have a 2000 grand am se.
It depends what engine you have. If it is a V6 3.4... the labor is only .5 and the water pump is about $65.00, and one gallon of Dexcool is $21.33. Sounds like $661.00 is far off. If you have a 2.4 engine, the water pump is quite complicated to replace, as it is in the rear bottom of the engine and driven by the timing chain. I replaced one when I worked in a shop. Notice I said ONE? Those are a More than likely you have a 2.4 with a price like that. That is also not a bad price, being that the pump runs about $50.00, but the labor is about 9.5 hours to install it. Make sure the diagnosis was properly done. The water pump on the 2.4 is a far cry from the radiator. The water pump bolts into the back of the timing cover, and the back flange on the pump bolts to another flang on the water pipe back there. There is also a bypass pipe that has an o-ring on it that pops into the pump. If it is just that o-ring leaking, you will save a ton of money.
Q:How much does it cost to have either the thermostat or water pump fixed on a car?
you didn't say what yr and model of car or truck..You can get a rebuilt water pump for about 30 to 50 dollars, according to make and model, thermostat about $8..now the kicker is getting someone to put it on..that is where the money comes in...so ,I say $60 tops... Its is easy to do,Do you have any friends or Family that knows anything about cars? If you do that is your best bet...I could have it in and out in 45 mins..Sorry..
Q:I want to buy a tree spraying rig for my property but would like to know its theoretical capabilities first. The rig has a gas powered diaphragm pump capable of delivering 20 GPM @ a maximum pressure of 300 psi. The hose coming from the pump is 150' long and is 0.75in diameter. It has a solid stream nozzle that measures 0.1875in diameter. What would the maximum theoretical elevation that this setup could deliver a steady stream of water? The nozzle would be aimed at between 45 and 60 degrees from horizontal.
well water exerts about 1 atm pressure (15psi) for each 33 feet of depth so 300psi is about 10 atm meaning that your pump could support a column some 330ft high then figure what pressure you would need to make your spray effective and subtract 33ft per 15psi this is only a ballpark estimate losses in hoses will be significant
Q:My family has a vacation home on the bay side of a small island off the coast of Texas. The house has a water well and uses an electric pump housed in a pump house underneath the structure, which is up on stilts. The house is infrequently used and with the seaside conditions the pump has corroded and will not start automatically. What do I need to do to clean it up so it will function? I do not believe that the motor is damaged.
the problem with the pump not running will be the motor only.....most likely the motor rotor has rusted to the winding core of the motor ....soak it down with wd40 on the inside ...should be vent holes to spray wd40 in...try to find some way to turn rotor ....on some pumps there is a screwdriver slot on the end of the motor...if it still wont run take it to shop
Q:i need help on how to replace a water pump oil seal in a 2001 rm80...i looked everywhere...if you can get a video or detailed info that be great, thanks
