It depends on whether you have a presta or schraeder valve. If a schraeder valve, you can buy a bag of them with a remover from an auto parts store for about $3.00 or so. If a presta valve, most of those cannot be replaced so it is new tube time. Are you sure it is a valve? Many times a puncture in the tube will leak through the valve hole AROUND the valve making it seem like a valve.

describes how it works pretty well even thought this one is not in fact solenoid operated. This one is operated manually via the blow gun which is just being used as an inexpensive lever operated valve, but the main part of the valve works on the same principle illustrated in the Wikipedia article, just mentally replace the solenoid with the lever valve.

SHUT OFF WATER AND REPLACE RELIEF VALVE, IF YOU HAVE HARD WATER IT CAN ACCUMULATE LIME AND FORCE VALVE TO OPEN. ALSO HEATING ELEMENT MIGHT BE BAD AND WATER HEATER IS OVER HEATING. VALVE SHOULD RANGE FROM 150 TO 210 PSI NOT 30 PSI.
Q:My car hesitates on the highway 55 m/h and up after about 20 minutes of highway driving, I unplugged the EGR valve to see if it still hesitates, but the problem went away after disconnected the Egr, so is it for sure that the valve is bad? Assuming you know what the valves are, the valve guides are the part the valve stems ride in. They are important because the keep the valve heads lined up correctly to the valve seats for proper fit and sealing, also the valve guides have a seal at the top end of them around the neck of the valve. These seals will wear quickly causing smoke from the tail pipe. You'll also get poor valve performance and accelerated wear of said components. Honestly, I would stay away from Mistubishi products (cars and light trucks) as historically they are not very reliable or popular. The repair for this problem is EXPENSIVE as it requires the removal of the cylinder head and machine work to repair. Do yourself a favor, buy another brand all together. Hondas-Toyotas-Subarus are all great values and the resale value will hold. Mitsubishi vehicles have terrible resale that goes with the mechanical history they have.

No, the valve is there to provide a steady idle regardless whether the transmission is in gear or the air conditioner kicks on. If the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is not working right the engine will usually idle low and try to stall, although it can also cause high idle.

Also, metallurgy covers corrosion requirements but not obviously so 3] To which I add: flow rate [or Cv] and pressure drop fail open or fail closed response time signal input [3-15 psi, 4-20 mA, 1-5V, etc] connections [ie, fitting type] packed vs sealed might need to look at hard seat materials and/or replaceable seats, to control erosion reliability, ease of maintenance, availability of spares, timing on that vendor permanence [ie, are they entering bankruptcy ?] Cost

You turn the valve counterclockwise to open or turn on the water. You would turn it clockwise to shut the water off. Think of it as you would as if you were turning a screw. Right is tight. Be sure you open the valve all the way so the packing in the valve is tight, some valves leak a little, especially old ones, if the valve is only opened partially.It pays to work a valve occasionally to keep it supple, otherwise the packing or rubber washers dry out and start to leak. When you are operating a ball valve, one with a flat handle that only turns 1/4 turn or 90 degrees, when the handle is going in the direction of the pipe, the water is on. When the handle is going across the pipe, the water is off.
Q:I got a new gas stove, but I can't find a shut off valve to take the old one out and put the new one in. There isnt one behind the stove on the line, and i went under the house and followed the gasline and didnt find one down there either. Can any one give me ideas where else to look?
Do you have a meter some where outside of the house? The shut off valve is usually real close to that. It is the type that you have to take a wrench to turn it off. I'm not trying to insult you I'm just trying to help. There will be a narrow bar on it and it will be pointing parallel to the pipe at that point. You will have to use a crescent wrench and turn it 1/4 turn until it is cross ways to the pipe. Good Luck
