I would spin it as dry as you can in the machine and then take it home and let it air dry. It could shrink if you throw it in the dryer. It should wash up very well.

It works perfectly and cleans the carpets pretty swettly. You should give it a try. Just remember that the rug will be wet for a couple of hours so let air flow through your house to allow it to dry quickly
