- hi, as everyone else said...depending upon the material , weave, colors, original, and where you buy it from... I am an oriental rug maker so know little about other varities, but assuming you are in a weatern developed country, I would say about an oriental handknotted rug would cost you around 40-50 $ per sq ft that would make it between 3000 $ to 3800 $ if you buy from a rug store near you. on the contrary if you buy from a directly from a rug making country then it may cost you somewhere around 20-25 $ per sq fts making your price to be around 1500 - 1900 $ plus about 200-250 $ for shipping

- They used brush as a carpet cleaner. I saw it once in the movie I forgot the tittle it was an epic movie. It is like a dog brush but the strands are different than the normal brush.

- Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is great for absorbing odours. Sprinkle on the rug (the reverse as well as the front if necessary) leave for a couple of hours and vacuum off. You can also put a few drops of your favourite essential oil onto the rug to freshen up the smell. Also, as daft as it sounds, to get rid of chemical smells from the room itself such as glue, paint etc peel an onion, chop it in half and cover it with water, leave it in the room overnight and it will absorb the smell (don't ask me why this works but it does!) - The best product is goo gone it works on carpet and gets ALL stains out, it is very good! Look it up online. You could also try oxi clean which works vry well, but id stick with goo gone is they are very deep stains.

- Q: I have white carpet and after years of living we have accumulated many stains throughout the house. It always looks dirty! I own a carpet shampooer and use it frequently but a week later the stains resurface and it all looks yucky again. Do you have a good stain pre-treater for me? Or any other suggestions?
- The reason this happens is because most of the time the padding is saturated to. What you want to to do is clean the fibers but do not let the water get to the padding. If you have to clean a spot.. make sure you place paper towels on the spot and press till it no longer shows wetness. I use Resolve and spray it lightly and use a clean white tightly rung out. Rub the spot gently , and do it again over and over till the towel no longer has a stain. After you finish, place paper towels over the stain and place a heavy object .. Since it is already damaged , clean the fibers.. don't wet the carpet..padding.. Do not let anyone walk on it till it is completely dry. if you have to designate a space to walk. It might take days even if it is warm. then change the designated area and clean that. do the same.. wick.. imagine a candle , the wick brings up oil.. same happens with carpet..Always vacumn well..You might need to get a dry cleaning solution..
