- Q: how much is it to replace timing belt and water pump on a Chrysler voyager 2002?????
- Two engines were available in the 2002 Voyager - a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine and a 3.3L V6 engine. The 4 cylinder was timing belt driven but the V6 uses a timing chain with no set replacement interval. Replacing the timing belt and water pump in the 4 cylinder is going to be $500-$850.
- Q: Im an SHO fan looking to get another one. The car I'm looking at is a 1991 Taurus SHO. Price is pretty cheap and nothing wrong with it except he said the water pump will need replaced soon. Ive looked at water pumps and Im aware of cost. Im decently savvy with car repair but there are a few things ive never learned. How easy is it to replace a water pump? Should I have a go at it myself or is it better to be done professionally? What is the general cost for a garage to switch out the water pump?
- The water pump is either belt driven on the exterior of the engine block but in most cases for small engines like this on I would assume you would have to take the timing belt#x2F; chain cover off and it is probably driven by the timing belt#x2F;chain it is quite simple once you open it up and take it out. Much like a alternator if you know how to use tools you#x27;ll be able to figure this one out. Good luck!
- Q: i wanna use a water pump to pump air...but im afraid that it might burn or sth....
- With much less efficiency of course, provided the proper leak profing.
- Q: I just came from my dealership and they tested my car with a pressure test. They didnt notice any coolant leaks. Last week my car I noticed that the coolant level has decreased. I had to replenish it in an emergency effort. I am curious to check the water pump. I am going to ask my mechanic tomorrow if he could check it and how much does something like that cost to check? I DO NOT want any coolant leakage getting into my engine because that could present a problem. How can it possibily get to the engine???
- If you had a water pump leak you'd know it! There would be coolant draining out of water pump seal the minute you filled the cooling system. A water pump leak doesn't get coolant into the motor. It will get the timing belt wet with antifreeze and cause the belt to jump time and possibly bend your valves. The only way you'll get coolant in the motor oil is if there is a head gasket leak. To check for that you need to have a block test done.
- Q: I intend to construct a DIY base camp shower and dish sprayer. I have been searching for an appropriate submersible water pump to plug into a small inverter to a 12-volt cigarette lighter power pack (car jump starter). I need to attach adapters for a hose with a shower head and think that approximately 1+ gallons of draw per minute is practical. I would possibly use a five to six-gallon reservoir, heating water on a car-camping propane stove. My biggest concern is amp draw. Maxi-Jet NJ-400 Submersible Utility Pump, $21, is a powerful aquarium pump with an adjustable flow up to 1.8 gpm.

- Q: I took my 04 Grand Prix to the mechanic for a coolant change. My car had never drip coolant until after the coolant change . I took my car today to the same mechanic and he told me that the problem was the water pump and wants to charge me 70 dollars. Could changing the coolant affect the water pump. Or did the mechanic damaged the water pump on purpose.
- I will try to put this simply. It is very serious. Water cools your engine and without the pump to circulate it, your engine will overheat and very quickly damage itself. Even if you add water constantly, it is not being circulated, your engine will overheat and the new water you will put in will probably instantly boil and rush up into your face. My advice. Don't drive it until you can get it fixed. Sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I am concerned for your safety and I don't want you to wreck your engine and you will if you keep driving it. The damage you can do is like this. The engine overheats and seizes up. This means that the engine parts, pistons and rings have expanded beyond design limits. They break inside and wreak havoc. The crankshaft and big end bearings can seize also. If all this happens, you are looking at a reconditioned engine. Fix your pump. It's cheaper
- Q: My car randomly decided to dump fluids the other day. Now, the engine overheats after 5 minutes of driving it and the check engine light comes on. I put more coolant in it and noticed it began to drip underneath the car. I'm hoping it's a leak but being my car is 10 years old and I've never replaced either the water pump or the head gasket I figure it's about due time unfortunately. About how much would this cost me to have done at the garage?
- Rather than guess at what is wrong you should have it tested and confirm what is wrong, then worry about how much it will cost. The two things you worry about are only part of what the problem could be by your description. Could be a hose, clamp, radiator, thermostat, cap, gasket, pipe.....
- Q: Okay my well water pump keeps turning on and off, i can hear it click on and off. Then the water stops running completely! What is wrong with it?? It has been doing this since last night.
- You have what is called a waterlogged pump system. As Gordon said, all in one sentence, most domestic water pump systems operate by using the water they pull up from the ground to compress the air that's already in the resevoir tank either in your basement or back room. The standard working pressure limits are 20 lbs. on/40 lbs. off, or 30 lbs. on/50 lbs. off. The water is pumped in until the air is compressed to 40 psi., then the pressure switch shuts it down. When you draw water off by turning on a tap somewhere in the home and it eventually gets down to 20 or 30 lbs, whichever your system is set on, the switch calls for more pressure and the pump kicks back on. In older resevoir systems where air and water met, under pressure, eventually the air is absorbed by the pressure until there's no room left for air to be pressurized and the pump tank becomes waterlogged. If you have what is called a bladder tank, there is supposed to be a rubber film stretched across the tank somewhere near the middle to keep the air and the water separated, If that bladder bursts for whatever reason, eventually, you wind up with a more expensive older style water resevoir tank. You can repressurize these tanks, by turning off the electricity to the pump and turning on the house taps. Let them run a good long time, then shut them off, put some air back in the tank via the fixture on top, close everything back up and turn on the system. Let it prime itself and pressurize itself, it should be close to being right, if not right on. Or you can have a new tank installed.
- Q: I know what is the role of the pressurized water pump adapter to the indoor fire pipe through the fire, then the fire truck to the indoor water supply when the water is pressurized by municipal pipelines, natural water, fire water or water itself injection pump adapter? The fire truck is equivalent to a pump from the water extraction and then injected into the water pump adapter? I haven't seen it with my own eyes, so ask, I hope someone will answerIs the fire engine to be used as a pump? For example, in the field of water from fire pool or when municipal water supply network, a head of extraction, the other end of the water pump adapter access outdoor indoor pressure? PS: I'm not referring to the high-pressure water pump adapter, but access.
- The water injected into the water pump is the water on the fire engine, and the fire engine is supplied by the city fire hydrant.
- Q: I need to install water pump and need to know the cost already purchase pump
- Same labor as timing belt replacement, which you may want to have done at the same time. Probably 6 to 9 hours.
