DPO, You will need the water pump gasket, water pump gasket sealant and the manual. DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE. Remove the cover [after draining the coolant this time] and clean everything up nice and dry. Resist the urge to scrape and gouge the parts with a screw driver to remove the old gasket material. you can use a scotchbrite pad to clean it all up. [no, steel wool cannot be used] Use a THIN film of sealant on each side of the gasket [NO, more is not better] and bolt it back together gently or you risk cracking the pump cover. Don't forget to refill with coolant and recheck after it has warmed up and cooled again.Get the manual before you do any more damage. You didn't give the year or exact model 85 so the link below is just for example.

the fan and fan clutch are bolted to the water pump pully. you have to hold the pully in place and break the torque off of the fan clutch nut. easiest way is to go down to an autozone or wherever and rent a fan clutch removal tool. it'll have a wrench for the nut, and also a large fork that goes over the bolts on the pully.

You have a few issues here. Your water that leaves when it's turned off - that's part of what's called your 'water in transit', the problem part is what can't be contained by your lower vessel when turned off. A surge tank can remedy this, as can other solutions - but I'd have to see it. Leaving it on 25/7 can eliminate this effect - until someone has to work on it. Off or not - if it is a sterile pond, you may only need 4 hrs a day for the sanitization, if your circulation is proper. If its a single pump setup, then override the timer to get the look (if you have a waterfall or fountain) when you want it. If it's a live pond, then it really needs to run all the time. These points are all part of a proper waterfeature design. Unfortunately, in this market, lots of folks and others are creating things which have the attributes you describe - and plenty more. So if i understand, you are losing water from your system but no evidence of where it is going. I can think of two options. Heater core, but you may get a coolant smell inside the car, steam on the interior of windshield. You can check this by connecting the heater hoses directly, bypassing the heater core. If it still loses water, look for foamy oil on the dipstick or on the oil filler cap. If present then the other guy is right - headgasket. I would also look into flushing the system, or replacing the radiator - it may be clogged.

the first thing to do is make sure your switch contacts are closed...if they are not and the switch has a handle on the side of it, lift up the handle until the contacts close....once the pump starts working and builds up 20 or 30 pounds pressure it will start working the way it is suppose to would only need to dig up the well and pull the pump as a last resort...and since the pump was working before the power went out..Most likely all you need to do is figure out how to start it...if it is a jet pump (above ground pump) then all you might need to do is prime it to get it started your pump is a jet pump ?? how much water did they use to try to prime it with??it takes one gallon for every ten feet of pipe in the well.....if your pump is in the well it does not have to be primed...
