- That all depends on the type of fire fighting hose nozzle you have. The real underlying factor for pressure at the nozzle is the pressure being supplied by the hose. Hence the fire department's use of PUMPER TRUCKS to pump up the pressure. The Plain Pipe type of nozzle is merely a tapered restriction at the end of the hose that maintains the pressure at the tip by restricting the flow. The more professional type of fire fighting FOG nozzles are much more complicated internally. (Some are even designed to maintain a constant gallonage flow through the nozzles.) These nozzles are designed to break the stream up in one fashion or another in order to create small droplets and thereby increase surface area of the water thereby helping to cool the fire.

- Are there any radioactive materials in your house? I have also found that a very, very steamy shower will set off some in the vicinity. Unscrew it and check to see if there is a ceiling leak. Try relocating it to a new position in a different place before discarding it. Drop it in the Home Depot basket at the entrance. They recycle stuff like batteries, so maybe they recycle radioactive materials too. Your smoke alarm has them. Or, ALL of the batteries you are trying may be too old and weak. Sometimes they are like that out of a new package, and you should get a refund from the store where you bought them. Happens more often with Dollar store batteries made in third nations. Sorry, that is all I cold think of right now.

- Mike is right. The winter tires are softer rubber and driving them in the summer will cause them to wear out faster. Other than that, there's no reason not to run on them. If I lived in a really snowy/icy area, I'd go for the studs for winter and run on the winter tires in summer until they wear out.

- you can make a bunch of 'fire engines' from cardboard boxes. use toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls etc to make ladders. Get the bath hoses (you attach to the tap) to make fire hoses. Or an old garden hose and make smaller hoses from it. You could even make card board cutouts of burning buildings that they have to go around and 'put out the fires.' Give them buckets etc. And a SMOKE machine!
