Q:I will put this generator to power my automated vehicle which have sensors, servo for the steering, motor for the rotation of the rear shaft, laptop for camera vision etc.: A battery powered wheel chair has everything you need. You can buy an old one cheap and fix it up to work as your automated vehicle. Use Lithium Ion batteries for maximum power or one of the new AGM car batteries that provide deep discharge operation.

Q:Can anyone help me figure out where I can find a diesel motor that can be used in a motorcycle? Can I take the motor out of a diesel generator or should I buy a new/used one made specifically for a motorcycle?: diesel motors are not exactly meant for huge changes in load and very high revs typical of a motorcycle a diesel generator? those run in a very very narrow powerband go for the one made for a motorcycle if their are any unless you have a really good reason just get a 4 stroke

Q:Do they look any different? I can not see the difference and I do not know which trains are electric and which ones are diesel. If there is any difference in appearance, what is the difference?: First off, all trains are electric, the only reason there is a diesel engine is to run a huge generator that supplies electricity for locomotive. but in a straight electric, first you would notice it is quiet and smoke free, no diesel egnines running. Second it has to have a way of getting electrictity to the motors while on the move, the most common and effective way is with overhead wires, the track will have lines directly over the center, and th elocomotives will have a device mounted on top that pushes gently upwards against the wires to conduct the electricity down into the control compartment of the locomotive. Look for the overhead device on top of the locomotive, very easy to spot.

Can I keep the motor and swap a generator hook up: The power of the diesel is matched to the electrical power rating. In theory, the Diesel requires 21hp to drive a 15kW output and is actually 25 (or more). The Diesel cannot deliver more electrical power. The oversizing of the prime mover (diesel) helps to absorb starting loads and prevent full throttle operation at rated output. In addition, specific exciter voltage is often drawn from the engine. The bell housing and couplings which join the engine to the generator are also likely to be specific. The chances of DIY improvement a slim.

Q:for electricity: Running a generator of any kind or size will cost you more than your local utility company charges per day. A generator is usually a emergency or standby situation and not ment for long term use.

Q:How many watts would it take to run a small cabin with just basic lights, mini fridge, stove, maybe a small tv? I was thinking a 6000 watt diesel generator.would running it every day ruin it?: 6000 watt would probably cover it, especially if you bought a gas stove. Generators are designed to run for long periods, but I would suggest you shut it down at night - it would probably be too loud to sleep anyway. Personally I would also tend to install batteries and an inverter and some small solar panels too - you could get away with a smaller generator to just charge the batteries but it would probably cost more overall.

This has been done in applications as small as a .12cc engine all the way up to huge engines that power large ships. The most common place I used to see it is with gas engines for tractor pull. The engines do sync up and will run together when you pair them up thru a clutch

Q:I want to place a quiete genarator which is about 7kva. Will it disturb people in my apartment? We usually make a lot noise in the building. But doesn't sound a lot also?: a 7kva generator isnt even that quiet. i know they say quiet but theres only so much you can do. why do you need a generator anyways? and yeah it probably would disturb the people in your apartment.
