Q: ok, how do you make a paper crane. i've totally tried with a direction and marked paper, but that didn't work out. by the time i gave up the paper was all smooth cuz it was so worn. anything would help, links, step-by-step instructions, both. whatever. 10 pts to whoever tells me, and i succeed. sweet
The first one is a list of instructions and the second is a video of someone making a crane. Good luck! P.S. Wrong category!
Q: ...the crate weighs 4000N when resting on the ground. Find the followinga)The tension in the cable necessary to do thisb)The work done by the cablec)The work done by gravityd)The total work done by the systeme)The final velocity of the crate
Ghee is clarified butter! The rest sounds like homework!
Q: Iv done some research and I cant seem to find a place that might sell jibs locally here in Phoenix. Iv been considering the ProAm DVC 200 crane but I would also like to see others in like a store. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated!
I went down that path last year in the SF Bay Area in California. I could not find a store that carried any cranes or jibs - so I just started asking around. Stay away from any that use cables to keep the stage steady - we used one at a shoot - setting up is an interesting challenge. I thought I wanted the same unit you are looking at - and decided I needed to trust the crane a bit more with my HDR-FX1... I had to wait longer to save more $, but I really like the crane and tripod kit I ended up with... from Kessler Crane... I never got to see it before I bought it and I was, um... nervous... but I am glad I made the investment - and Eric Kessler is REALLY helpful and great to work with. One of the other cranes I looked at uses a heavy duty PA speaker stand as its tripod base. After watching light trees and PA speakers fall over because of leg failure, I could not bring myself to trust them to hold my camcorder. I can STAND or JUMP on the Kessler tripod and it does not budge. It is rock-steady and really strong. The Hercules head is silk-smooth and the crane-arm and camera stage are steady and easy to manipulate. After a little practice, it now takes me about 10-15 minutes from the time I start unpacking until I am ready to start shooting. That includes mounting the camcorder, setting the counterweights, mounting a portable DVD player with AV-in as the monitor mounted to the tripod-head so I can see what the camcorder is shooting and running the AV, headphone and LANC cables and making the whole thing pretty with velcro strips.
Q: death... by exile! Also, which Batman movie was your favorite and why?Mine was the first because it was cool to see how Wayne started and got all the Batman stuff and the movie was less confusing, haha. Plus I thought the actor Cillian played Scarecrow really great :)
Yes, that was such a nice surprise. He was a great villain in Batman Begins. For a split second, I was like Wait a minute - the last time I saw Dr. Crane, he was freaking out on that Toxin they released into The Narrows. . ., but then, I remembered - he and everyone else affected by that poison were given the antidote after it was produced by Wayne Enterprises. His role as the judge at the sort of Reign Of Terror style court system is perfect - Crane clearly enjoyed watching people suffer mentally, liked seeing them terrified. Sadistic little twerp. Tough call on favorite.. . while I think the first two thirds of The Dark Knight are probably the very best of the series. . . my personal fave is Batman Begins, too. I can remember the first time I saw it, and as they're showing the establishment shot of those mountains in Asia, Raz Al-Ghul's lair. . . I kept thinking, this is different than any other Batman stuff I've seen - this is cool! Kinda sad it's over! :( Edit - And I just wanted to add - I've used that line Bruce's dad says with my own little son: Why do we fall? :)
Q: What can paper crane symbolize?
i believe that the crane fold is artistic, formal and abstract. i feel that it is a way of expressing harmony in life.
Q: feminists always point to sexism. but Ive found 3 women here - who say they have experienced no sexism, and were pleasantly surprised by how excepting their largely male co-workers have been -
A crane operator is responsible for the safety of everyone below their load. Responsibility is something women seem to try to avoid. It isn't sexist, or a macho thing, it's THEIR choice. Note the failure of our Equal Rights Amendment, to our constitution. After years of work, we got it through congress. but if failed to be ratified. Women came out in droves AGAINST it. It included equal responsibility, and most of them didn't want THAT. It's a matter of responsibility. Women are not responsible. It's THEIR choice, NOT ours.
Q: I was looking at the glidecam hd1000 for my canon vixia hv40, but now I think I'm more interested in a crane (jib).I was thinking of the advance digital 6 ft. crane. I would replace some of the plastic parts for metal.I'll be using it to film sketches and short films. (my budget is 350 dollars, but id like it to be under that)the crane is 200 dollarsthe glidecam is 370 dollars (on amazon)Thanks,Mike
It okorder / I have purchased Studio Jib last year and since then it is performing pretty good. It is quite light in weight that it can be carried very easily without any problem.
Q: If the crane Dawkings refers to about natural selection is not operating or existing by chance, then some questions arise:1) who or what is operating the crane?2) if its self operating, how is it programmed to do so?3) who made the crane? And about designing the designer, No one did. Otherwise the crane would be lifting the operator of the crane into the crane. I guess the crane can operate by itself, but then stopped doing so when something designed the designer. Too many philosophical conundrums for me. The belief in an unified, and self-complete, creator is far less of a complex explanation than the 'crane' concept with all its requisite philosophical flamings hog's heads.
There are cranes, anchored to the ground which can build concepts up. However, the idea of a sky crane is how someone builds a concept from thin air. The ultra cosmic sky crane built it. That way you don't have to figure out a realistic way of building a theory.
Q: There are a range of cranes to be selected for a particular type of job. Please provide any suitable method so that we narrow down our selection criteria .
What is the load weight? How high is the lift? Obstruction, possibly needing a jib? If you are placing a load onto a roof, how far from the edge of the roof is the load going to be placed? How far from the crane pivot is the load on the ground and how far are you going to to move the load away from the crane to place it in position? How close can you get the crane to the load and to the load placement site. The usual scenario is to call a crane outfit and they will ask you these questions over the phone or come to the site and discuss the lift with you. A crane is rated for maximum lift as close, usually 10 feet,to the cab pivot center. As the distance increases, the maximum load that can be lifted, decreases. Our 15 ton crane can pick 15 tons/ 30,000 pounds at 10 feet from pivot center. With the boom fully extended; the boom is 100 feet, at a 30 degree angle, it can pick up only 5,000 pounds. Inside of every crane cab should be a chart that shows the lift capacity at various boom angles and boom lengths. Also is included is a chart for the Jib, if the crane has one. Wingman
