Q:how do you win at the crane game?
im the master of the crane game. You gotta scope out the animal first! If it looks heavy then dont even bother. Whenever you grab hold of something its gonna pull it up and shake when it hits the top right? Thats why you go for something close to the hole it drops in. They have one where I work so I lock the wheels, grab the animal and pull the whole machine forward so that it just falls in the hole lol.
Q:does it only carry thousand of pounds stuff or wat?? for science project??
A crane is a mechanical lifting device equipped with a winder, wire ropes and sheaves that can be used both to lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. It uses one or more simple machines to create mechanical advantage and thus move loads beyond the normal capability of a human. Cranes are commonly employed in the transport industry for the loading and unloading of freight; in the construction industry for the movement of materials; and in the manufacturing industry for the assembling of heavy equipment
Q:I just wonder they use cranes at such heights, how do they carry the cranes at such height? Helicopter or something? This is a picture of what I'm talking
The cranes are jack-up cranes. They have their own self-contained jacks. As one floor is completed, they jack up to the next level. The cranes are on top of the buildings. They are designed by structural and mechanical engineers to loift a given weight.
Q:A. Designated operatorsB. All construction site personnelC. InspectorsD. All of the above
Crane are extremely dangerous and complicated machinery , the operators need intensive education and training , they have to pass the required tests to be certified . Now even the signal guy on the ground who helps the crane operator needs to be certified . So your answer is A.
Q:I have got a ton of Mosquito Hawks in my house. Should I just let them be or will the problem get worse? Plus I read they dont bite humans but will the bite rabbits? I have 2 house rabbits that I am concerned about.
So called mosquito eaters, mosquito hawks, or skeeter eaters. Unlike mosquitoes, crane flies are weak and poor fliers, so they can be caught easily and without much effort. Despite their common names, crane flies do not prey on mosquitoes, nor do they bite humans. Adult crane flies feed on nectar and consume roots such as turf grass as in backyard lawns.(So they won't be preying on your rabbits) Their life cycle is very brief, so you shouldn't have to worry about them multiplying. They are also weak and poor fliers, so they can be caught easily.
Q:It's got to be the most famous of all designs in the art.
Better yet, can you make an origami orgasm?
Q:for my homework : the question was explain how a skyscraper crane uses physics moments but no where can i find out the answer and dont want a detention ekkk x
OK... So what has your homework actually asked you to explain? Can you post the question...? There are moment forces going through a crane, is the aim of the homework simply for you to explain what a moment force is using a specific example ? A crane can be thought of in simple terms as a cantilever, ie one supported end and one free end, the lever arm force as it is sometimes referred to in schools is actually the moment force i.e. the moment for a crane with a boom L=40m long lifting a load of P=10kN would beP*L = 10*40 = 400 kNm, this is ignoring the self weight of the boom, if the boom weighed W=1.5kN/m (thats per meter, not to be confused with kNm which is kilo newton meters) then the moment generated by the self weight would be (WL^2)/2 = (1.5*40^2)/2 = 1200kNm so the total moment would be 1600kNm, so just remember for a point load the moment is force * distance from support ( in cantilevers) hope this helps... :)
Q:Where i live i get a damn lot of these come in my house.... I usually just leave them unless there are too many. This was before i was told that they are in fact one of the most venomous creatures on the planet. I laughed, but then was told the same by a friend.Im now Little worried about them coming near me. I understand they have no ability to sting but still... Should i worry about them flying around my house? I was thinking if i were to squash one, doesn't that mean the venom is now on my hand?!Are they really the most venomous creatures on earth? Or am i making a mountain out of a molehill? Thanks
It is a complete myth. Confusion can arise because there are three different animals commonly called daddy-long-legs - spiders of the family Pholcidae, harvestmen (which are arachnids, but not spiders), and crane flies (which are insects). The myth about 'daddy-long-legs' being extremely venomous was originally applied to pholcid spiders, perhaps because they often kill highly venomous species like the black widow. Because the name is shared by harvestmen and crane flies, the myth is now often applied to them too. It is false in all cases. Whilst pholcid spiders are venomous, their venom is far too mild to be dangerous to humans - it causes nothing more than a slight tingling sensation. Harvestmen and crane flies have no fangs or venom whatsoever, and are completely harmless.
Q:How were Churches and really tall buildings constructed hundreds of years ago before the invention of cranes?
Scaffolding, pulley systems, pure strength.
Q:Equipment safety of tower crane
Some use units over profit, not pay attention to safety, small horse cart, overloading seriously, tower crane accident is one of the main source of high incidence. Some manufacturers in order to meet the construction requirements of the enterprise, expand sales, to occupy the market, will be independent of height increase, the boom will be lengthened to increase the tower coverage, this is bound to reduce the stability of tower crane, reduce the rated lifting weight, increased insecurity. There are some private and unauthorized modification of the tower crane tower crane in the assembly, this part of the tower crane for a long time in the second-hand purchase price is cheap, not willing to invest in maintenance, and frequent failure, which should arouse our attention, we should seek truth from facts, according to local conditions, to solicit the views of all parties on the basis of the introduction of relevant the supporting policies to solve this problem. By strengthening the safety management of several aspects of tower crane, it can effectively prevent all kinds of accidents in the process of tower crane use, and play a preventive role. Practice shows that as long as the construction enterprises, factories, construction administrative departments, in accordance with the tower crane detection institutions can each link to do, to strengthen the safety management of the tower crane, can effectively control the incidence of major accident of crane.
