- There is a legend that if a person makes 1000 cranes then they get one wish. Cranes are a sign of longevity in Japan and children often make cranes and bring them to a famous shrine in Japan. Not sure if its true or not. I'm testing it out now actually. Just 900 something more cranes to go.
