Cost will be under $15, that is a huge savings over the rental of the rug doctor, which by the way may not work well on an area rug. HOW TO ~ ~ vacum the areas and move the furniture. ~ spray as directed on area around 5X5 ~ let foam set for at least 5 minutes ~ using hot clear water ring out a rag until just moist and rub area to remove surface dirt. ~ take dry rag towel and rub across the area, turning until the towel no longer removes dirt and carpet is dry to the touch. ~ can do a rug in less than an hour and the results are better than the steam cleaner without the hauling around, the price and the water mess on the floors.

Instead, please suggest a cleaner (or a home-made recipe/solution) for cleaning and shining stainless steel small appliances (coffee maker, panini maker, barmen's toolset, and some others) and for how to get set-in stains out of a small oriental rug. Thanks!: No idea about the rug, but a company called simple human makes a cloth that you can use with just water to shine up/clean all your stainless steel appliances. There aren't any chemicals involved! You can also use a small bit of olive oil to a cloth and use that to clean and shine them, then wipe with a clean dry cloth. Weird, but it works. I have a small steam cleaner for my rugs that works pretty well. I'd try one of the oxy type cleaners.

If this is the case you can just snip the paint off with sharp scissors. Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump. Dissect any paint clumps first by cutting them in half or thirds, so that you separate clumps. This will work unless you have already used nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. and have worked the paint into the carpet. Also...cutting paint off carpet will work on shag or plush carpet, but not Berber or loopy carpet. Good luck. -
