- Q:I have alot of wheels from the 1980's cuz i only ride the stuff from then. Well i have some of my wheels that the bearings will spread apart in once i have the wheel onto the truck. I would have the wheel to where it would wiggle on the truck so that way the wheel would spin nicely. But i have noticed that once i do some kickturns and what not, the wheel would start slowing way down and the cause of this would be with the bearings spreading even if i have spacers in each wheel. Some of my powell peralta wheels dont do it but a few of my other brand name ones do. Is there anyone that could give me some hints or ideas on how to fix this problem.

Well after a few minutes of skating the wiggle room is gone and it's like I tightened down my bolt all the way. - If you aren't using speed ring, use them. Replace axle nuts. Could be bearing migration from excess bearing lube. Remove bearings and wipe outer race with denatured alcohol. Wash the wheels with dish soap and water. Make sure to wash the bearing seats. Dry before placing the bearings back in. If it happens only on one side but not the other, it's axle slip. Send trucks back to manufacturer.

- ABEC is not a type of bearing, but simply a rating system on the quality of the bearing. I clean and lubricate most bearings with WD-40. You only need to clean or lubricate a bearing if you've noticed a significant decrease in its performance.

- Ask yourself WHY this need to be done when your engine should last for 300,000 miles WITHOUT needing ANY internal parts. The answer of course is that you have benn using INFERIOR WAX based engine oils. Even now, you PROBABLY do NOT need new bearings, but you DO need an engine flush and switch over to any of the good synthetic oils with a 0 series rating. Your engine life will extend and your bearings will be protected in the coldest weather, even at START_UP, which is where most engine wear actually occurs. TRUST ME, I know!! You shouldn' tneed crank resurfacing, but take the time to platigage the bearings, or have someone who KNOWS what they are doing repair this thing, Usualy a little crocus cloth will clean the crank surfaces perfectly. THINK AHEAD, and LEARN form this experience. USE DEXOS oil of Mobil One or Amsoil in the future. You will save money and your engine sensors and converter will last longest. - Last time I checked it was ABEC7 bearings. Shows how long its been since I have bought bearings. Honestly, the brand doesn't matter. ABEC 7s were what thrilled me the last time I had to buy bearings, I have heard of ABEC 9s but don't care to find out because my stick rolls just fine on ABEC 7s.

- it may be good for internal bearings it sounds like it's exatally like wd-40 which isn't a good spray for bearings only because it leaves a residue behind that'll collect more dust and dirt and do more harm. You're best to get the silicone sprays like that bearing factory one, I know it costs more but it's a lot better and a can that big would last almost a liftime because it doesn't take much to lube a skateboard bearing, or even 8 of them.
