ABEC pretty much summerizes up you bearings Abec 3 crappy but ok ABEC 5 greant but not pefect ABEC 7 almost th best but some flaws ABEC 9 smoothest fasted longer lasting but hard to find

A lot depends on the type of bearing. Generally, you can get the bearing out either with a press, or if you do not have a press or access to a press, you can use a tube or socket of near the right size and push them out with this and the use of a hammer. Before you do this, heat the metal surrounding the bearing to expand the housing to facilitate the extraction of the bearing. Nip into LOWS; go to the plumbers section and purchase gas-blowtorch. This will help heating t he metal surrounding the bearing. DO NOT HEAT THE BEARING ITSELF, okay. Once out, the replacement is simple. Again, heat the metal to help the bearing slip in easier. Use a piece of wood to tap the bearing in with a hammer to tap and seat the new bearing in. Good to go .. Best wishes, Dr Antony (45 years of doing it myself)

Q:On a big truck that holds a 3 pc. drive line and has 2 carrier bearings, is it best 2 keep the bearings level?

It is important to keep the bearings square with the drive line. The whole point of having the bearings to support the multiple piece drive line is so that the shaft doesn't need to be absolutely level with the frame, or to be absolutely straight from the transmission to the differential. THE ONLY CRITICAL angle is that the mating surfaces of the transmission and the differential must be within a tolerance of 1-1/2° of each other. The OTHER critical issue is that all of the bearing bosses must be square with each other. If the number 1 joint is positioned at 12 o'clock, then numbers 2 3 must also be at the same index or the driveline will grow under load and at speed ( 40 MPH) and will exhibit a server vibration. given the fact that the bearings are 35 years old and should have a good amount of mileage, i would. you are going to have the rear end apart for this any way. save your self the time and money for a second tear down. if the bearings were replaced prior to this, hmmm, i would still save face and replace them. it seams like any time you disturb one part to replace another, that first will start to act up.

Q:Well, I was wondering: do all skateboard bearings have 2 sides? I looked at abec 7 or 8 bearings and they do not seem to have 2 sides? How do I know which side should i grease? most of them have two sides. I believe that abec 7 bearings have two sides but i am not sure. google abec 7 bearings and that should give you the answer

Q:i need to change the bearing on my hyundai accent front passinger side, i got it all apart and see i need a press. would it be easier to replace the whole hub i so how do i go about doing it ? any link to diagrame etc.. would be appreciated

Machine shop, 35 dollars and they will press the old bearing out and press a new one in. If you purchase a new hub, you will need to press the bearing in anyways so that accomplishes nothing, only way otherwise is to get a used spindle from a junk yard. I'd call your local napa or car quest and find one that has a machine shop.
