Q:Cleaning and drying carpets?
Open the windows and run fans on the carpet so it will dry and not have a moldy smell. If you want to clean the carpet rent a steam cleaner.
Q:Ok;I think I need some color help with a rug?
You could go with like colors such as natural colors in a fall pallet. You have olive and off white, so yellow and brown would go as well. I would go for a punch of color though, and add some dark/brick or burgundy red. You could purchase a few decorative pillows as well as have some of that color in the rug. You could also use some metallic colors like gold and bronze to accent your room and give it even more dimension. Most of all, have fun and pick colors and fabrics you like and will enjoy!
Q:Should carpet have attached backing? Why?
Installing new carpet can be a hassle, especially if you are using carpet that requires a separate layer of padding. Instead, you can save time by purchasing foam-backed carpet that comes complete with the padding. The backing is not as thick as traditional foam padding, so the carpet will need to be replaced every few years if it is subject to a lot of foot traffic.
Q:how to wash the carpet?
Clean it with hot water!
Q:What does Insurance claim on damaged carpet cover?
Unfortunately most insurers will do what State Farm did. It is unfortunate that the new carpet is a different colour. You should have been able to choose the colour. The same applies with roofing. I have seen one side of a roof replaced by insurance. Keep in mind that insurance is meant to bring you back to where you were. But it's a frustrating process and adjusters don't always have time to fully explain. Hope that helps
Q:Should I get blue curtains or a blue rug?
I agree, that would be too much blue. Pick a third color to introduce into the color scheme and search for rugs that include all three colors and maybe one additional color if it's not too over powering. You want the rug to bring the whole room together. Too much of one solid color will make the room lack opposition and contrast. Therefore, it won't be too visually appealing and it will take away from creating a cozy atmosphere. Do you want the room to have more contemporary or traditional elements? Research the rugs, according to that too. I would base the color/design of the curtains on the rug you choose and also, on the height of the ceiling and color of the walls etc. Good luck, Im sure the room will be beautiful :)
Q:Best Carpet Cleaner?
I have found that Oxiclean is probably the best solution. If you cant find it in a liquid form, try to dilute some in some HOT water and then adding it to the machine. Good luck.
Q:Grease stain on woven rug (due to Bissell fiber cleansing cleaner). Any suggestions?
i exploit a purifier referred to as pink skill on mine, spray it on, or if the stain is undesirable, pour slightly on, then use a sturdy stiff brush and scrub it particularly sturdy. Rinse it sturdy, take a seat out interior the solar enable it dry. It has no bleach in it , it in basic terms is going immediately for the grease or oil.
Q:I want to place a coffee table on an area rug that is on carpet?
To protect the rug fibers from being crushed by the coffee table legs, place small pieces of carpet padding under each of the legs. As long as the furniture is lightweight, then your persian rug should stay in tact. It is not wise to place heavy objects or heavy furniture on persian or oriental rugs for fear of damaging the rug fibers.
Q:How do I dye a wool rug border?
I have worked with Rit dyes quite frequently and although they are good dies for natural fibers, I am not sure painting a boarder will net the results you desire. First of all, the dye has to be mixed with salt. Because you will not be able to rinse and spin the dye out of he rug, that salt will just remain in your rug when the dye has dried. This may leave salt crystals in your rug along with making it quite stiff. And,because the dye is wet, it will certainly bleed outside of the boarders of the rug. Another problem is the dye bleeding onto the floor causing permanent damage. Even if you can jump over these obstacles, the dye will remain in the rug, full strength because it can not be rinsed and spun out, so it can easily transfer the color from the rug to your shoes to other areas of the house. And, heaven forbid, if the rug gets wet at a later date it will reactivate the dye and boy I will hear you cursing from here. So, you see, using this type of dying process is really full of challenges and there is too much to go wrong so I do not think it is worth the risk. However, there may be other dyes I am unaware of. Do an internet search on dyes and also rug dying to get some helpful hints and possible products that will net you the results you are after. I have lots of resources that I will check on and edit my answer if I get more information.
