Q: Can I lay the carpet under the refrigerator?
Under normal circumstances, it is not possible, because the refrigerator is frozen, sometimes below there is water, carpet pressure in the following, it is easy to mildew
Q: I recently had an incident with my toddler and a light candle. The wax went all over the carpet.. bright red wax, and white carpet. I have tried using a carpet cleaner and hand scrubbing it with a brush. Any ideas how to get it out? Thanks
when you get wax on clothing, it comes out by putting it in the freezer, then the wax just chips off, try putting ice in a bag and placing it on top of the carpet, do this for a few days, making sure the ice is always really cold, the wax should eventually chip off! I hope this helps!! :)
Q: So, im trying to make a little ramp for summer skiing. I need to know what i should use(ex. carpet (type?))
I went to a store in Nashville that had one of those carpet things to try out equipment on. They were using a low pile berber. Like the first guy said go to the carpet store. They might have a remnant you could get a good discount on.
Q: Carpeting a 1400 sq. ft. office. Price is an issue. I would like to lay them directly on plywood floor (no 1/4quot; underlyment). Will plywood seams show through? Should I even consider laying them without gluing down? Any experience good/bad? And suggested source? I see them on internet for $.66 sq foot for excess inventory. Thanks!
No carpet pad is needed. Carpet tiles have an integral pad built into them to keep the plywood seams from telegraphing thru the carpet. You should adhere them to the floor, and while I agree with the previous answer about quarter turning the tiles, you may want to lay a few out and see how you like it before you stick them down for good. There are many different ways you can position carpet tiles (very versitile). Check out Interface Carpet (yahoo search will give you the website). They have good ideas on installation methods. And 66 cents a sq. ft. is a great price!
Q: Are rugs supposed to more or less engulf a room and be under the legs of your furniture (in our case that would be the 8X10), or are they used more as accents rugs in front of couches and chairs, not actually touching the furniture but filling the empty space....hence the 5X8?Or are there no rules and anything goes in the world of rugs? Also, any suggestions for selecting a pattern are welcome. Our chairs are neutral, but the couch has a strong leaf with some floral pattern to it, and in addition to struggling with size and colors to match it, we're also having problems with pattern on pattern. I suppose the safest thing to do would be just to forget rugs, since we seem to be challenged in this area - but the floor desperately needs something and the room needs a punch of color to balance it. Thanks for your help!
The rugs should be under the legs of accent pieces like kitchen tables or accent-end table. I'm not sure if the rule extends to the larger pieces.
Q: I am new to weaving and inherited a loom. I a looking for opinions on the best websites to buy warp for my loom. I am looking for the best price, etc. I need to buy 360 spools.
360 okorder too. If you're a new weaver, better to start off with the materials for one rug first.
Q: How to do if the carpet shed hair?
Some of the quality of the carpet after the hair did not do it more to do with a vacuum cleaner to clean or with a hand brush hair device to deal with the bedroom to use the blanket off the dust with the air to enter the respiratory system air to create a health hazard
Q: How to release hydrops in the room laid with carpet?
The other water can be treated with a duster cloth that can absorb the wet. And you can take this opportunity to wash the carpet and dry it up, and then screw it until it dry up, and then wipe it. It is easy to handle.
Q: Normal household carpet. NOT industrial carpet. Per square foot.
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
Q: I have horses aswell, and we always put rugs on them to suit the weather conditions, but never put any rugs on the donkeys. Their coat is thick, but would getting them a rug still be a good idea to keep them warm? Its snowing where I live at the minute, and its meant to be getting even colder soon!
I agree with Janian. They shouldn't need a rug. Donkeys (and horses) can handle cold just fine. What they can't handle is a combination of wet and windy. Then they might need a waterproof blanket, but they should have a shelter to stay dry in anyway. A blanket can actually make them colder by pushing down the fluffy hair, which is meant to insulate them from the cold.
