- I wouldn't. I would invest in renting a steam cleaner ( $60 ) at hannaford and just giving your carpet a really deep down cleaning and then you wont even need to do it again probably for at least 6 months-1year.

- The stretcher is a key component. Without the stretcher you could end up with wrinkles in the carpet and the edges may pose a problem.
- Q: we moved into a new house...the carpet is really very very messy..my apartment guys refused to change the carpet....looks like it has not been cleaned for months...they are number of stains on the carpet(very old ones).....i have new bisell carpet cleaner...but it is of no use.....i hate to see my carpet like this...is it possible to make it look like a new one....plzzzzz help
- there are two ways to go as i see it- either hire someone to clean your carpets- one of those companies that has a van/truck mounted system can do a good job- if they will take the time to DO a good job- not just a quickie. you can pre-soak some of the stains with a low-sudzing, preferably enzyme based soulution like a laundry pre soak sprayed or poured on before they get there. bleach is not a good idea. they will move furniture for you. The other way, less costly, but good exercise, is to rent one of those machines at the grocery, home improvement store etc. they are about $20-30 for 24 hours- so do it on day off so you can go back over areas that need it since you have the machine for a while. the machines are usually one piece, simple to use, heavy any you are supposed to buy the rug shampoo that they sell with the machine. I have used Mr clean just as well, costs less though they of course dont approve of that. Do the pre soak spots thing the same, put as much furniture in another room, put legs of sofa up on a big cooking pot or mixing bowl to let air underneath for drying. rent the kind of cleaner that sprays the water/soap on, also has a vibrating brush, and then you drag the whole unit backwards with the vacuum area in contact with the carpet. it really gets the dirt and water out. Berber carpet is a little harder because it is bumpy, i have used these many times, i am a do it yourselfer and it is easy. use water as hot as you can get it out of the tub faucet, dump the dirty stuff down the toilet. i have a home rug cleaner and it is lousy too for anything major. your back may be sore when you get done, but it will work great. - Yes it will. In my room, the carpet I'm sitting over right now, used to shed like crazy! It's been about a year and it hasn't shed in several months. Time will fly by and you just need to be patient. If you really love it, it will be worth it.
- Q: whenever I have this small flufy rug out, my cat quot;who is fixedquot; tries to sneak in when I'm not there and piss on it. He knows he is not supposed to do that because he won't try to do that when I am in the room. I have to put the rug up to where he cant get to it or he'll piss on it.
- He might be peeing there because his litter box is full or hard to get to. He may also have a urinary tract infection as cats will pee in conspicuous areas seemingly to let you know some thing's up. You might want to try soaking the spot on the rug with vinegar, then washing it soap to get out the vinegar smell. Vinegar is pretty good at getting out the smell of pee.
- Q: I just bought this big wool shag Rug.. and its really nice except it shedding..there is red hair balls everywere... on the floor...on my cloths ...its almost like having a big red dog that sheds constantly! what can i do ? is there something to spay on it ? someone suggested to me to use hairspray???... any advice?
- Let me know when you find a solutions, because I have one too. Just don't walk on it. It will not shed if nobody touch it. It is good for looking, not practical. And you can't use vaccum on it, got take it outside to beat it.

- This is a seen from a movie. The guy is a stoner and goes to this rich guys house asking to pay for the rug. I forget the name of the movie but this definitely isn't true. They call the guy the dude and tara reid is in the movie who gets kidnapped... really it's her other boyfriend and they demand 1 million dollars. I think it may be called the dude lol
