- Q: I think my water pump is going bad but figure id ask everyone to see what they thought. I leak coolant like the first 20 min i drive my truck and then it will seal itself up for the next day or two then start leaking again. It is getting leaked all over the belt and the fan is spraying it all around so you cant tell where exactly its coming from but i checked all the hoses and they are good and im pretty sure its not the radiator. Also, when it is leaking there is a loud whining noise when my trucks on and i heard that can be from the pump too.

- I had my pump changed and the water remained the same. It looks like you didn't really need a new pump, but a new screen on the well itself. Ask a well company what they think. I thought it was my pump, too, until I found out they had to change the points in my well to the tune of $1,000. Changing the pump should have never changed the well....sounds like you hired a plumber.... Good Luck!
- Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX and i recently took it in to have its timing belt and water pump replaced. Since then, I have noticed a change in the cars performance. I have lost both gas mileage and power since i took my car in. The maintenance supposedly took the dealer twelve hours to complete which seemed a little odd to me. Do you think this is linked? IF THIS REPAIR WAS DONE RECENTLY I WOULD TAKE IT BACK AND TELL THEM THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A LACK OF POWER CONCERN EVER SINCE THEY DID THE REPAIR. Today on the way to work the heat cut out suddenly.I have had an issue with my engine where the temp will go up and down while on the highway but maxes out at like 215. Today after the heat cut out it was getting up near the redline before going back down to 150.I made sure the coolant was good before coming home but on the way home it was doing the same thing. I changed the thermostat but it's still doing the same thing.When I rev the engine I can see the upper radiator hose collapsing so it seems like there's a clog somewhere but I don't know how to find it. I guess it could be the water pump but then what is causing the suction on the upper radiator hose?Anyone have any ideas?
- if the top radiator is collapsing then the radiator is clogged up ! i doubt it,s the water pump ! try this ! once the engine is hot, shut it down and feel the radiator fins next to the fan ! if you feel cold spots then the radiator is clogged in some places ! flush out the whole cooling system ! i had a ford truck that did the same thing until i bought a new radiator !
