- Q: Hey i need to have a room recarpeted nothing expensive fairly cheap carpet im wondering whats the cost per squar yard of carpet or better yet how much would it cost to have a room 12 feet by 12 feet carpeted.

- Take a paper towel and iron over it. it will re-wet the wax and it will adhere to the paper towel. Be careful not to melt the carpet though:) Also some say ice is supposed to work but I haven't tried that one.
- Q: I'm getting new carpet put down in my room soon, but I'm very clumsy and I can't keep it clean. Is there some kind of carpet protector (much like a screen protector for a phone) that I can put over my new carpet?
- Don't take food or drink into your room keep all make up nail polish in the bathroom it should be OK.You could try putting a thick sheet of plastic over where you walk etc but really,you need to learn better habits is my advice.
- Q: I just bought an area rug from Home Depot. It is wool with a fabric backing and they have used a glue that I have had problems with on other rugs. It smells so bad, that is all I can smell when I walk into that room. I smelled the sample piece when I ordered it and it didn't smell. I have gotten rid of other rugs in the past that never lost the smell. Now What?
- Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is great for absorbing odours. Sprinkle on the rug (the reverse as well as the front if necessary) leave for a couple of hours and vacuum off. You can also put a few drops of your favourite essential oil onto the rug to freshen up the smell. Also, as daft as it sounds, to get rid of chemical smells from the room itself such as glue, paint etc peel an onion, chop it in half and cover it with water, leave it in the room overnight and it will absorb the smell (don't ask me why this works but it does!) - Q: We just got new carpeting last year in our family room, and are driveway is flat. It rained really hard three days ago, and the water came into the house and got are carpet soaked! We borrowed a carpet cleaner that sucked up about six buckets of water, but now its dry enough that it isnt sucking anything else up, but the carpet is still wet. It also smells like mildew in our house now. I sprayed Febrez, but the smell keeps coming back. Any ideas on how to get the rest of the water, and the smell out of the carpet?
- Whenever you have a flooding issue, of any kind, always call a professional out. DO NOT USE A RENTAL MACHINE. The rental units do not have the suction that carpet cleaners have. Most of the cleaners have what is called a claw, that presses down on the carpet and the padding to pull the water out. The rental machine only got the surface water. Water stayed in the padding and is allowing bacteria to grow. You carpet might be salvaged if you get a professional out now. They can kill the bacteria and odor, remove the excess water and have blowers to help dry out under the carpet. Good luck
- Q: He only poops when the door is open, other than that he uses his littler box. ( little box is cleaned 2 x a day.) He does this even when we wash and bleach the rug. WHY!
- GREAT name! Some cats seem to take issue with what they consider unusual things lying on the floor. Remove the rug; if it's a bath mat keep it over the edge of the tub until you need to use it.
- Q: There is this rug I love but I just looked at the materials and it said 100% latex backing. I am allergic to latex. Can I use this rug? Or every time I step on it will it bother me?
- Not sure if it will bother you but you need to consider that latex backed rugs can discolor the flooring underneath of them. It might be better to choose a non-latex backed rug.
- Q: I have an off white area rug, it's older so I'm not interested in professional dyeing practices or paying a lot to get it done but I'd like to dye it black....is there any easy way for me to do that.. uld I use fabric dye or no??
- First of all, unless it's wool or cotton, it won't dye. Second of all Rit NEVER dyes anything black. It always comes out shades of gray.
- Q: Will leather carpets smell bad when they're put out for a long time?
- There is, if in the mountains or coastal environment where moisture is relatively large, but also to open the market, so that the floor and the water on the leather volatile, otherwise, for a long time there is also possible to produce worms!
