1.The drawn cup needle roller bearings are needle roller bearings with the deep drawn, thin-walled outer ring with either an open end or closed end.

2. The bearings are characterized by a very low sectional height and high load carrying capacity

3. The bearings are typically used in applications where the housing bore can not be used as a raceway for a needle roller and cage assembly but where a very compact and ecnomical bearing arrangement is required.

4. Typically, drawn cup needle roller bearings have a single row of rollers. However, wide sizes incorporate two needle roller and cage assemblies immediately asjacent to each other with a lubrication hole in the outer ring.

Product Applications:

Needle roller bearings are mainly used in car engines, transmissions, compressors, cranes, etc.

Q: Air bearings have been used in large centrifuges and gyroscopes.
It could be applicable to electric cars and also maybe more applicable in the AirCars that TATA is producing in India (and with plans here in the US). Where the air cars have a ready supply of compressed air they use for propulsion the electrics would need an electric motor to drive a compressor. The think is that since these bearings are frictionless the amount of energy used to feed the bearing only has to overcome the amount of energy normally consumed in friction. Not sure what bearings though... lots of bearings in any automobile, electric or otherwise. The thing is with air bearings the load has to be fairly constant. Could never use them in a recipocating mass like crankshaft, connecting rod bearings in an internal combustion engine. Would work in a turbo-charger though.
Q: ok. i got a new pack of bones reds and new wheels. i dont know how to put the bearings in properly though. if I push them in all the way to where the axel goes throgh the wheel there is a good 3mm gap between the bearing and the edge of the wheel, which i'm assuming would make it difficult to get the bearings off. should the bearings go in like that or should they only go to the edge of the wheels? thanks
Put lube around the sides then put it in the side of the wheel. To put it in all the way just use the axle of the truck to push it in.
Q: i'm trying to make my bearings as fast as possible by cleaning them constantly with simple tissue paper...turns out it does not work to good. there are no skate shops in my area,(southeast texas) so i would like to know if there are any type of cleanser/lube product that i could find in my counter or at a wall-mart. thank you.rules:don't say google it.
this is my method... Buy: a gaterade bottle, or a bottle big enough to fit a bearing....3 in 1 oil which will cost 2-3 bucks..and rubbing alchohol, but it has to be at least 90% alchohol or more. 1st. find a bottle like a gaterade bottle, or a bottle big enough to fit bearings in it. 2nd. put the bearings in the bottle then pour rubbing alchohol, which you can buy for 3-4 bucks (MAKE SURE ITS 90% ALCHOHOL, cause water will make it rust.) 3rd, shake the bottle for 5 minutes then pour out the alcohol. 4th. dry the bearings 5th. use 3 in 1 oil to lubricate the bearings and make them spin more freely this will clean your bearings, make them last longer, and spin a bit more faster..
Q: I have been checking with at least 3 different mechanic about ongoing problem in my Buick park avenue 2003.only one told me that I need to replace both front bearings and also asking me to replace tires(which I did and problem still exists) also right front tie rod..none of these other mechanic are sure what is the problem..Problem is this...Car seems pulling(no break problem) and wheels wobbling..making wide turns..what is could be?looks like all these mechanic don't want to deal with to fix my bearings..what you say?
bad bearings are easy to diagnose. Jack up car and shake the tire. If it wobbles and makes a slight noise that's your problem. When you go to a shop tell them you want to watch them check the car and show you what the problem is. You will also hear a noise from the tie rod ends or ball joints. Any backyard mechanic knows this so a shop should.
Q: DOES IT???
Yoyo's have bearings? Then they don't work like when I was growing up - how would a bearing unit grab the string to climb it.
Q: I have seen two different types of spacers and can;t seem to find much on the net about the differences between them. One type just goes in between the two bearings and the other type has a smaller end that goes into each bearing. My question is simply whats the difference between the two and whats better? (Inline skate/hockey/general question)
The difference is the axle diameter that they are for. If you measure the bearing, the opening is 8mm (5/16) Better skates come with 8mm axles and cheaper ones with 6mm axles (1/4) Since 8mm axles fit the inside of the bearings the spacers just take up the space on the axle between them. The spacers for 6mm axles have to have the small ends extending into the bearings to make up for the gap between the axle and the bearing.
Q: sealed bearing hubs
wheel bearings on that truck are sealed.....When they go bad, you replace the bearing/hub as an assembly.....They should last at least 100,000 miles if truck is not treated roughly....I owned a 2000 Silverado that had 146,000 miles on it when I traded it in....and still had the original wheel bearings on it and they were still in good shape.
Q: I have a Dynacraft Next Turbo bike,I have called on the cycle companies and said I would need to call the Next company. So I was wondering, what are the crank bearing sizes for the bike? Thanks!
You should go with Bones Original Swiss Competition Skate Bearings Skateboard wheel bearings optimum for speed and strength Precision-grade Swiss design and manufacturing acclaimed for 25 years Nylon ball retainers and Bones Speed Cream lubricant for a sustained ride Removable rubber shields make cleaning a snap Skate Rated for better performance than any ABEC rated bearings; lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects
Q: i need to change the bearing on my hyundai accent front passinger side, i got it all apart and see i need a press. would it be easier to replace the whole hub i so how do i go about doing it ? any link to diagrame etc.. would be appreciated
If you have the option of choosing between changing just the bearing or changing the whole hub then changing the hub is by far easier but also more expensive. You will need to take out the two bolts that hold the caliper on and wire it out of the way. Then remove the rotor. You may have to take out two screws to get the rotor off. now you will have to take the axle nut off of the axle stub. On most cars there are three torx head screws that hold the hub on. Take these out and disconnect the wires to the speed sensor if it has one and your hub is off. If you are just changing the hub then bolt the new one in place. If you are just changing the bearings then you will need to take the hub to someone with a press to change the bearings out. Then installation is the reverse of removal. On a few cars like my KIA you have to remove the entire spindle and have the hub pressed out. KIA is owned by Hyundai so they may be the same.
Q: im looking to get the alien workshop big takeover board and it says that it has ABEC 3 bearings...are these any goodafter i get the board and get used to it i might change to some bone reds bearingsare those anygood?here are the details on the boardFully Assembled Complete Features Reflex Hornet Trucks AWS 53mm White Big Takeover Wheels Reflex ABEC 3 Durabuilt Bearings Black Grip Tape 7.75 x 31.5 7 Ply Constructionsound good to you?
If you're a beginner I absolutely 100% reccomend the Enuff Sketchy skateboard. Comes with all that stuff you said up there, only much better quality, ABEC 7 bearings, ABEC 3's are rubbish. I learnt on it, and it was amazing. Great Pop. Smooth. Held together way better than some of the more pro one's i have had over the years. In the UK its ?54.99. If you are american then I have no idea, but i know that it's cheap and better quality than the one you want to get. Hope this helps and answers you question. (:
