- ball bearings have no edges they do not tip upon frictional surfaces instead, they roll and in effect, reduce friction

- Neither one. Bearings are measured in degrees. Or, do you mean bearings as in ball bearings? Those are measured in diameter.
- Q: Recently it moves from side to side a bit when you are driving. I has a horrible screeching sound when you drive. and it has a popping sound to it. I've been told it was the bearings. Possible the brakes too. I really don't want to give up on this classic car. So could anyone tell me or give me links to how to fix up the car. PRETTY PLEASE. That car has been with my family for a LONG time, so we really want to fix it and do it ourselves. Let's see, It's pretty much the axel/tires that we don't really know what's wrong. - That's right, gat a HAYNES manual, the Chiltons are pure junk. Just ask the auto store to order you one, takes about 2 days. It discribes in detail, with pictures, how to do all the small, like wheel bearings, and medium stuff that a home mechanic can do. I am using a haynes manual to do my rear spiring, calipers, and disks, as well as the steering box on my '73 Chevy, they are the greatest. That's how I learned to work on cars, from a haynes. Incedently,, the wheel bearing are pretty easy, but you need to NOT drive the vehicle at all, as you can damage the spindals which the bearings go on, and that is costly and pretty much only a shop can do that kind of repair,, because of the front springs and ball joints. The bearings will be easy though.

- the squeaking is a results of two rubber components rubbing against one yet another, placed a divide between those and unfasten our autos. If that doesn't paintings, you may choose new bearings
- Q: So i recently got a new engine and tranny for my 1992 honda accord. (engine swap h22a) runs great. but i noticed it makes a loud humming noise after i release my foot off the pedal. This happened i THINK before i got the engine swap too. but that was like 2 years ago so i dont really remember. it was sitting in my driveway for about 2 years. my new mechanic says its the wheel bearings. The engine and tranny r fine and run and shift well but even if im going 30, or 70, when i take my foot off the pedal it goes....huummmmmm, going down. Humming decreasing. He heard it and said the front wheel bearings need to be replaced. What do you think? thanks.
- It okorder /... You can then take the bearings you purchase from the internet to the local garage. You will save a ton of money replacing it with the bearings you purchased online. Good Luck!

- pop the grease covers off---rinse them out---leave the covers off---a light squirt of w-d-40---or lps,,,they were out faster--but give it a try----good luck,,,,,,idea-----take a set of wheels and put them on a metal lathe----go to a bigger size bearing that has the same I-D,,

- Honestly... unless you have very good bearings, the best thing youc an do is toss them and get a new set. Most bearings are inexpensive and rather cheaply made. If you are using something like bones swiss, then take care of them and they can last for years. What do I use to clear my swisses? Gasoline. Its dangerous, but nothing works better. Honestly, just get a new set if you are riding cheap bearings.
