- Q:Anyone know the range at what I'm looking at for completely full ceramic bearings for a longboard?
- Assuming you are looking for not only ceramic balls, but inner and outer races as well. These bearings will run around $240 a set. Most bearings that called ceramic only use ceramic balls, but the races are still steel. Some cheaper 'ceramic' bearings only use a ceramic coating on the balls. You might want to think about stainless steel bearings. They are very resistant to corrosion and cost much less than full ceramic bearings, and only a little more than regular steel. SS Bearings with ceramic balls cost about double that of all SS bearings.
- Q:My bike has a hub for a shimano freewheel with 7 gears. One of the dust covers in the hub is bended inwards and the cone goes through it. As a result the bearings come out. I was told by a bike's mechanic these dust covers are very hard to find and they are mostly manufactured for the specific wheel. Is that true? Do I have to change a full hub just because of this little dust cover? I did a quick search and found some for Shimano hubs but have not found one that looks like mine.

- Q:hello, i had a oil leak in my car witch ended up in a seized engine, i have taken the sump off and taken off the bolts of the conrods and the shells are very damaged, it seems i can now turn over the engine when the conrod bearings are removed, if the conrod bearings are damaged does this meen that the shells on the main crank bearings will be damaged aswell? would it be possible to replace these bearings without removing the crankshaft, also one of the conrod bolts is a little bit rounded off , how would i take this of and could i buy new bolts ? thanks
- INVEST IN A REPAIR MANUAL..CHILTON OR HAYNES BRAND FOUND AT LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE IT'LL GIVE STEP BY STEP PROCEDURES TO R R PARTS
- Q:I went to Les Schwab and got my car checked out after I heard a clicky noise. I told them to check the bearings. They did and said they needed replacing and were in bad shape. They called me and gave me a quote for $500. Is that too much for replacing the wheel bearings, hub and an alignment?
- well i don't know what your driving. so it may vary. USD. wheel bearings, may go for 40-80 each hubs can really vary in price. 40+- for after markets, in excess of 100 for oem. alignment will run 80(?) at les schwab. then there's labor. 60-80+-. so just parts, averaging, bearings, 100 for two / hubs 100 for two / alignment 80. labor for three hours(prolly takes more than three) 160. total 440. maybe 60 over. but then there's tax. but not knowing what you have......... summary, i'd say it might be a little high, but, les schwab has excellent customer service. they are always a little high, but IMO the service, even after the job, makes it well worth it. i use 'em.
- Q:Okay so I'm buying 2 80mm/78a rink rat wheels and 2 72mm/78a wheels. But I need to buy some new good bearings that can go fast but arent to expensive. Please leave me a link or tell me what to type in the search bar to find them thanks.

- Q:How can I measure to see what size main and rod bearings I need, I know to use plasti guage but from there how do I decide
- Proper way is to mic the journals for size. But in many cases you can still read print on back of old bearings. Originally there would have been (std) printed on back of bearings if they are standard or original size. If crank was turned say ten thousands, bearing would have (.010) printed on back for undersize crank and so on for different sizes.
- Q:i need it before this tuesdayplease try and my help me
- bearings are just angels taken clockwise and written in three figures as for compass is concernt fix the pencil in it and draw circles
- Q:They are the Mission Abec 9's
- There really isn't that much difference between bearings. Mission won't want to get a bad rep by making bad bearings for their main customers. The price is probably a little higher than other bearings (without an OEM skate maker's name on them) than equivalent bearings from the top companies (Twin Cam, Zero Drag, Bones).
- Q:I went to a Kal-tire and the service technician told me I needed new front wheel bearings. I asked him to do the part look up and told me it was a sealed assembly part with the hub and it would cost 714 dollars for both Hubs. Does this seem valid? I looked up on some parts websites and I was able to buy just the wheel bearings and this was a lot cheaper. any opinions?
- Of course it was cheaper. All you did was buy some low-quality aftermarket bearings. Have you put them in yet? Do you have a 20-ton shop press in your garage so that when you remove the entire knuckle assembly and put it in the press to remove the old bearings and press on the new? I didn't think so. The shop does and has people with the skills and experience to do the job. That costs money. Also, that quote is almost certainly for new Hubs and Bearings (I always recommend doing both at the same time so you don't do the same job twice) and don't use the cheap DIY'er parts you find on the internet.
