- No they are sealed bearings.If you have a bearing noise the most simple way is to buy a hub/bearing assy.NAPA can get them alot of the time when you got a noise up there its not the bearing,its the axel/C.V. joint.If the boot is ripped open it prabably needs a axel.The bearings don't fail nearly as often as the axels.

- Bones Reds try and get ceramic bearings keep maintenance on them every month and don't worry about ABEC ratings cause it counts for nothing and you will have bearings for at least a year or two depending on where and how you skate.

- really you should do it about every 6 times you ride. But as long as you clean them every now and then its no big deal. just don't let it get to dirty. and if it gets really dirty you can tell in the way it rides. I clean mine ever week or so.

- DO NOT listen to the other guy. Reds are known for being the best performing bearings in skateboarding and they are very inexpensive. I mean sure if you spent like $50+ on bearings you might get slightly better then Reds but really it's not worth it. reds are great. i've skated other bearings, always go back to reds. ask anyone at a local park
- Q: is there a difference between longboard bearings and regular bearings?
- Not really. Regular skate- bearings take more of a beating so I tend not to buy overly expensive ones. A long board should definitely get some nice speed bearings. If you clean them regularly and keep them lubed they'll last you forever. DON'T USE WD40 TO LUBE THEM. For cleaning it's ok... because it helps protest them from rust and wear. You can actually buy a specific lube wherever you get the bearings.
- Q: like anything around the house or cheap
- There are citrus cleaners on the market (you may have some around the house like Desolvit or Goo B Gone or some orange cleaner) which can be used for cleaning bearings with. Not all bearings are serviceable, meaning that you can remove the protective shield on one side. The ones that are usually have a rubber seal on one side and the other is metal. You have to pop off pin holding on the shield and remove it, then remove the ball bearings. You can drop them in the cleaner and wipe out the crud inside the housing, then dry them off good and allow to air dry then re-assemble. After that you'll need some oil or hi-speed grease to pack them with and put back together. For bearings that aren't servicable you have a couple choices, either oil them (which is messy and the dirt will stay inside, but they will be a little faster), or I think they sell some cleaner in a jar for about $8-10 you can drop them in which supposedly cleans them then you have to oil them. But I don't think it works that great Good luck

- Q: 99 Lexus ES300. When I drive the car its fine for like the first ten minutes but after that when I stop at lights and for traffic the oil pressure will drops when the RPMs go below 500 or so. I took it in and they told me to keep thicker oil and Lucas Stop Leak in it. They also told me the bearings on the Camshaft are loose and thats why I'm losing pressure. Anyone know how much this is to fix? Is it possible to fix on my own? I'm a novice at best with cars. Also why would the oil pressure drop since the bearings are going bad? Just trying to understand the problem a bit better. Thx
- It's normal for oil pressure to drop when the oil gets hot and the revs go down so unless the oil light comes on and the oil pressure is dropping that far and your warning light comes on or stays on, it's not cam bearings, it's a sludge problem. Google toyota sludge. You may need to remove the oil pan to clean off the oil pick-up.
