Q:What are skateboarding bearings?
bearings r the things inside wheels that let them spin
Q:I recently had a repair done to my vehicle, and on the bill, they noted wheel bearings make noise. I went back in to ask the mechanic, and he stated to me that if I drive down the road I hear a roaring noise, and those are my wheel bearings. I asked him if this is something I should get taken care of right away, and he stated, no, not until it is very loud, so loud that you cannot drown the noise out with the car radio. Is this an accurate answer, or should I take care of this sooner rather than later. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of what it would cost to have my front wheel bearings replaced? Thank you.
You need to find another mechanic or take it to a REAL mechanic. You absolutely should have the wheel bearings replaced before your repair bill gets higher as they fail. If you plan to keep the car, have them replaced on both front wheels. If you only plan to have the car for less than a year, just do the one that's failing. Depending upon the car, it can range from rather inexpensive to ridiculously expensive. Replacing wheel bearings is a normal maintenance item and to be expected as the miles add up.
Q:The question is For e.g. S47 °W ^How do I convert that to a true bearing??
Bearings are usually measured clockwise from true north, so S is 180°, and W is clockwise from there, so we would add 47° to 180° to get S47°W has a true bearing of 227°.
Q:i have a 98 mustang, i know the seal is bad on the left rear but i dont know if the bearings are or not....sometimes when i put on my brakes or turn, there is a groaning/ rubbing noise coming from the back that doesnt sound like brakes
What we do is change both bearings and both seals when replacing one side. You are already in the differential to replace one side, the labor itself is saved if you do it all at once. Usually a bad bearing allows the axle to move around and this in turn destroys the grease seal. If you have been leaking fluid for a while and the oil level in the differential is low, you may have damaged the carrier bearings, spider gears, or pinion bearings. I have not heard many rear axle bearings make noise when it was time to replace them but I have heard a lot of differential parts make noise so you may want to have that checked out and make sure the rear end isn't destroyed.
Q:My high flange track phil wood hubs need the bearings replaced and i was going to go to a bearing manufacture i know of as opposed to having a bike shop order it. Are they standard 6000 sealed bearings or something different?

Q:Do cars have wheel barrens or wheel bearings?
Bearings allow the wheel to turn easier.
Q:my car recently (2 weeks ago started making a knocking noise like a chatter and i hear it coming from the engine. my mechanic said my main bearings are failing. he says the engine will last a couple years if i use a heavier weight oil. 2 years seems long. is that right?
This Site Might Help You. RE: how long will my engine last with bad main bearings? my car recently (2 weeks ago started making a knocking noise like a chatter and i hear it coming from the engine. my mechanic said my main bearings are failing. he says the engine will last a couple years if i use a heavier weight oil. 2 years seems long. is that right?
Q:They are the Mission Abec 9's
There really isn't that much difference between bearings. Mission won't want to get a bad rep by making bad bearings for their main customers. The price is probably a little higher than other bearings (without an OEM skate maker's name on them) than equivalent bearings from the top companies (Twin Cam, Zero Drag, Bones).
Q:are reflex rob dyrdek bearings any good? if not what kind?
Reflex Bearings
Q:Sup guys, first new thread. Anyways,i have a 2004 Honda 400ex. I noticed the other day that when i get on it and rock from side to side (stationary with engine off) the axle stays still but the rest of the quad moves and clicks sort of. It moves up and down, but not very much from side to side. Probably 1/16 side to side. And about 1/4 to 1/2 up and down. I tried tightening the jam nut or whatever its called (the left hand thread. I dont know as tht i tightened it right). But that did nothing. My rotor also moves front and. Back. I was told i need carrier bearings. I hope not because its wednesday and i have. Planned riding trip this weekend. If it is bearings, can i just tighten the nut and ride, then replace it?
it sounds like carrier bearings. keep your chain adjusted slightly tighter than usual. you can run it some with it that way. stay out of the mud! if you're going for a looong trail ride, you should replace them. also know that if you let them go too long it gets real expensive when you eat into that carrier housing!!! i've ridden many miles on bad bearings, you just have to watch them close and run a bit easier than normal. if at all possible change them before your ride, other wise go easy, have fun!!
