- Q:At my work place there are several parking lots, and on the side I park on there is a pink fire hydrant on the grass directly in front of a parking space. Now I find it odd because it's directly in the middle of the lot, and the parking space (with the yellow lines) are right in front of the hydrant, but there's no indication on the pavement that says you can't park there.From what I know it is illegal to park in front of a fire hydrant, but I see people parking there all the time, including myself. - It's pretty simple. The faster you go over the bumps, the more shock your suspension has to absorb. Those who creep very slowly over the bumps are saving wear and tear on shocks and other suspension components. While you may not damage yours the first time you go over at 15 mph, you do stress your car more than the other guy. You may not damage it the second, or fifth or tenth time you go over, but who knows how much wear you are putting in the parts as you go by every day, maybe twice a day. - You CAN'T unlock a car with a cell phone. Alarms work on RF(radio frequency), not sound. Microphones pick up sound, not RF. Therefore, since the remote for an alarm does not give off sound, but RF, the signal will not be transmitted. The video going around the net is a fake. The person in the video is CLEARLY still in range since you can see the rim from his car in the shot where he is calling the other phone and pressing the button.

- Well, you have to have the detectors to be in compliance with the fire/safety code. However, there's several different types of smoke detectors. Most of which would be ok, it's the optical type that you have to worry about. Any type of vapor will set them off. Your best bet is to replace the current detectors with those that will not be affected by a fog machine.

- the alarm is not adjustable . they are set to a standard which is tested and approved by U.L. (underwriters labrotories). If your detector is too sensitive , the sensor has probably become dirty and you shouldn't open it up and clean it. they are not user servicable. you have to replace it. go to ACE hardware or another hardware store and take the old alarm with you . just twist counter clockwise and unplug the wire harness. The people there are really helpful and have gotten me out of a lot of binds. so ask for the corect replacement and reinstall. PLEASE do not try to clean it or muffle the sound or try to adjust as some of the other answerers have suggested . the alarm is there to save your life. hope this helped. good luck.

- You can smother a fire with dirt, sand or salt. Just throw it in and cover all you can and it will go out pretty quickly.

- Q:Hello, i was wondering if keying a car (intentionally putting a key against a car, then scraping the key along the car to make ugly lines) will cause a car's alarm to sound off. My car got keyed recently and the police asked if i had a alarm on. I said yes, but i am not wondering if my alarm went off or not.
