The rotation direction
Viewed from motor, the direction of the pump is anti-clockwise,that is the suction in the left, the discharge in the right.
The rotating direction of the type pump is clockwise, that is the suction in the right, the discharge in the left.
Also can move the driver to another edge according to the user’s requires. Then, the rotating direction, the suction and discharge direction is in the opposite as the described above.

- Q: I'm trying to convince my dad to get a 1984 Porsche 944 for $900. However, the car need a new water pump and I was wondering how much it would be to get the part installed at a shop. What would be a good estimate as I'm planning on going to more than one place. So included with the price of the part and installation is this a good deal? And is the car reliable?
- What anywherebuttexas said - you just can't do the MINIMUM on a car like this, without it biting you in the 4$$ later. You can change a water-pump if you work steadily, methodically, and carefully. The principle thing to realise, is that you are dealing with HARD steel bolts, passing thru a SOFT alloy casing, and if you are too violent and forceful, you are gonna get into a world of expensive hurt. You have to put the socket on the bolts, and eeeeease the load onto the wrench. Let it build up over time, don't work like you are trying to do a quick pit-stop! Oil the bolts before you fit the new pump, and easssse them up to the right torque setting in the Haynes manual. Good luck - a transaxle car like a 944, or my Alfa-Romeo, can be a thrilling drive.

- Most RV water pumps have a pressure switch. They shut off a few seconds after you initially turn them on because they have pressurized the line. Once you open a water valve (faucet/toilet) the pump will start running again. Low flow could be caused by the size of the pump, size of plumbing, or line blockage.

- Gonna need more info for this one, start with the usage requirements for the equipment you are supplying. That should give you something to talk about with the local sources. The size of the terrariums and the amount of water in each one, the height that you want to lift the water is another factor to be considered. Be sure to include the diameter of tubing to be used and any special features, fountains, misters, etc. Good Luck

- While it is all apart the timing belt and tensioner should be replaced. It will cost several hundred to have it done. Neons don't get much older the 96, I would pay more like $500 for it. Make sure the head gasket is not leaking.
- Q: I took my 04 Grand Prix to the mechanic for a coolant change. My car had never drip coolant until after the coolant change . I took my car today to the same mechanic and he told me that the problem was the water pump and wants to charge me 70 dollars. Could changing the coolant affect the water pump. - I will try to put this simply. It is very serious. Water cools your engine and without the pump to circulate it, your engine will overheat and very quickly damage itself. Even if you add water constantly, it is not being circulated, your engine will overheat and the new water you will put in will probably instantly boil and rush up into your face. My advice. Don't drive it until you can get it fixed. Sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I am concerned for your safety and I don't want you to wreck your engine and you will if you keep driving it. The damage you can do is like this. The engine overheats and seizes up. This means that the engine parts, pistons and rings have expanded beyond design limits. They break inside and wreak havoc. The crankshaft and big end bearings can seize also. If all this happens, you are looking at a reconditioned engine. Fix your pump. It's cheaper
- Q: A pump is said to be capable of pumping water up to 100 meters, but I don't want to confirm that by actually putting up a very long pipe to that height. I know that pressure is related to height, so putting pressure at the output end of the pump would simulate different heights. Any suggestions how I can rig a contraption to do this? Thanks.
- *you can go by the 1st answer as pressure gauge near the pump discharge would give a maximum pressure inclusive of losses. As the losses are more[due to piping congetion or rasistance from the equipment to which it is pumping.] then the discharge head will be decreased. *Simply, in case of a centrifugal pump,close the discharge valve fully for a moment and check the discharge pressure. This is the maximum pressure ,your pump will pump. *Dont do this if the pump is positive displacement pump/regenerative turbine pump. Edit: Discharge head means pumping height in your case.
- Q: the car is a 1973 Pontiac Lemans, 350 V8. Water pump needs to be replaced. It's obviously a mechanical pump that's in there now. I was thinking of getting something with more capacity (to start off) as I feel the car could do with a better cooling system (and I have to get a water pump anyways). I was thinking of getting an electrical pump as that would also free up a bit of power from the engine. From what I gather, by doing this it seems I need to switch to an electrical fan also. - The water pump on that vehicle is a ob-centric style that you rotate to create belt tension. This is a bit tricky and some people have broken the pump trying to tighten the belt so be careful. Look at the replacement pump carefully before you attempt to change it, this will give you clues as to how it works.
