Q:Hey, I cant afford an area rug to put under my full, do you guys know of anything I could do to make up for this? I know multiple rugs would be stupid. The reason I want an area rug so bad is because my room is tile.
Rug Alternatives
Q:whenever I have this small flufy rug out, my cat quot;who is fixedquot; tries to sneak in when I'm not there and piss on it. He knows he is not supposed to do that because he won't try to do that when I am in the room. I have to put the rug up to where he cant get to it or he'll piss on it.
Your cat thinks the rug is a litter tray. Next time he wees on the rug make him sniff it and then put him in his litter tray immediately. Do not wait even 10 minutes because that is too late and by then he will have forgotten why you are rubbing his face in his own wee. Keep doing this until he gets the message.
Q:I'm getting new carpet installed in a home I'm selling. It's not a high end home, just a 1700 sq foot house that I'll list for $400k. The carpet the carpetman recommended to me is a shaw 18 oz face weight, 48 total weight carpet. To go along with it is 7/16quot; 6lb padding. Is this good enough? Will it look and feel nice enough for the people who come to see the house?
Face Weight Of Carpet
Q:Have a quick question? What do professional carpet cleaners uses to make the carpet smell like lemon etc?
Carpet deodorizer. You'll find stuff like that sold in janitorial supply places, or you can buy it at a rug store.
Q:it has a big yellow spot on the carpet now..
Of the three previous answers, I'd go with the Rit dye. Just make sure you dilute it well, and apply a small amount at first to see the results. Apply a second, or third coat if necessary to get the desired color. Also, you could try blending it out into the carpet that was not ruined for a cleaner blend between the two. Good luck!
Q:I am looking for a recipe that I can put in a spray bottle. A lot of the homemade concoctions I'm finding are ones that require dumping and rubbing into the stain, which I don't want to do as I have hardwood underneath and I've already overwashed my carpets from when my dogs were puppies. A lot of the store bought cleaners have discolored my carpets. I would like a solution I can spray on and blot up. Thanks
As a professional carpet cleaner, I can tell you the commercially made products are much better, easier to deal with and cheaper, really cheap if they are janitorial brands and really better if they are carpet cleaning trade brands. No sense in reinventing the wheel. Store bough cleaners did not discolor your carpet, the dog urine did. Your real solution is a certified pro or continue making a bad situation worse.
Q:ok my parents are saying that they want to have wood floor in both of the living room also in the hall ways and they also want rugs in the bedroomwhat do u think
Sounds like a good idea. I have wood flooring in my lounge and a large coffee table in the middle which is the same colour. Between them I have a big square rug which looks great :-) I'd say get the wood flooring first and then look at rugs you might want to get after that way if they don't look good together you can still return them to the store for a refund, hope this helps :-)
Q:Recently,my dog Luda got very sick and had diareaha.Unfortunetly I was sleeping,so I couldn't let him outside.Long story short, our white carpet is soiled. What type of carpet, and what color is best for having a pet?If it helps; He's part greyhound/part black lab so he is very active. He does not shed, but he does have dry skin at times.Thank you for your time help.
Our carpet has been great it has a stain guard so although a neutral colour we have no permanent marks. It wasn't a cheap carpet, I am not sure of the mix but isn't pure wool. I would think that the carpet selling places would be able to help as we stipulated that we wanted something stain/animal resistant. p.s. our very old dog has become incontinent so we have had alot of accidents lately, our carpet is a plain colour but with an indented square through it, so it gives off different shadings which helps with overall appearance.
Q:I built my own box, sounds great but looks terrible without carpet.
simple.just get the carpet you like.buy some contact cement at local hardware.apply cement to both carpet and box.you can use a small paint brush, but buy cheap ones you can only use it once.allow to dry to a tacky finish.stick carpet and trim.be carful once its stuck its there to stay.also have you thought about having bedliner sprayed on or do it yourself spray liner.check atoumotive supplier or local bedliner co.
Q:I saw a rug made out of t-shirts and thought it would be fun to try. I've heard it's pretty easy but I don't know if anyone has a good website or special tricks or helpful hints. Thanks anyone that can help! Also how many t-shirt would I need for what size rug? Thanks.
You can also use the whole t-shirt and make them several layers thick, sewing them together much like a quilt and making a rug that way. But I like the texture of a woven or knitted or crocheted rug, especially when it is made of rags. How many you need depends on many things, such as the size of the rug, and how thin you cut the strips. You will need MUCH more than you think... I know! Collect as many as you can from friends and neighbours and search the second-hand shops for them as well.
