Q: My radiator started leaking and now my carpet is pretty much ruined. I've heard nothing but good about the Rug Doctor machine, but I don't know anything about using or renting the machine. Does anyone know how much it'll cost? Are the attachments needed in order to work the machine? Does the cleaning solutions come with it or is it an additional charge? Also any additional info about the machine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
It too comes with a hose, stair tool, and cleaning concentrate. Either way, if you decide to buy, the Rug Doctor brand cleaning solutions are the best out there.
Q: how do you remove a moldy smell from carpet?
It depends on how deep the mold is. If it's in the padding, then you will have to replace the carpet. However, there are a few things you can do: 1) If you have the same carpet in the closets, cut a hole in the carpet and cut a hole of the same size from the carpet in the closet. You won't notice it in the closet as much as you think. 2) If the padding IS modly as well, please consider replacing the carpet.
Q: I just looked at a fantastic apartment...but it has this horrible brown shag rug in the main room! It just looks way too retro and reminds me of my grandparent's basement rec. room. The landlord said the apartment could be painted (it would have to be painted back when we left) and right now the walls are all white. What can I do to bring this room into 2007? I was thinking of a nice brown accent wall, or even painting the window trim....any ideas are welcomed!
I think shags are in style again. I saw on HGTV the decorator put a brand spanking new shag rug in an apartment. Love your shag rug! Go native with safari-feel khaki or sand colored walls, heavy dark accessories, and plenty of lighter tan colors to balance such as pillows, etc. Chocolate curtains with tan sheers in between. That's what I see for your room. Be sure and put in a great big green plant or two. Don't get so jungle-y that it looks artificial, but do hang an old looking world map on one wall and maybe a nice little jute or other sisal rug under your coffee table to define your conversation area. Don't forget a few punches of bold color such as red in some of your accessories and a few of your pillows. Think of parrots, bright and bold. sounds like fun to me!!
Q: What is non-woven fabric? What is called a needle rug?
The exact name of the non-woven fabric shall be nonwoven. Because it is a kind of form that does not require spinning weaving fabric, but the textile fiber or filament for directional or random support, the formation of the fiber network structure, and then the mechanical, thermal or chemical methods and strengthening into.
Q: How can you get rid of the oil on the carpet? Jipan high master!
You can try with salt, you can also try watermelon skin, just yesterday on television to see, watermelon skin can go to oil
Q: what is the commercial that the woman is looking at her carpet saying oh no my mother in law is coming in a hour how am i supposed to get this carpet clean. It's like a shake on thing moist powder or foam then you vacuum up after like 30 mins.
commercial carpet cleaners do a rotten job, except for Resolve. most that a powder can do is loosen some dirt and hair and deodarize. the foaming ones do not work. Buy a tub of Oxy-Clean, make a thick paste out of warm water in a Dixie cup. spread on carpet, work in with brush, wait a minute, then pick up the most that you can with a wet towel, rinseing at least once.
Q: My cat keeps scratching my carpet should i get her declawed oris there a way train her?
A cat's natural instinct is to stretch and scratch. That's what helps develop their muscles, so they need to be able to do this somewhere. A scratching post sprinkled with a little catnip should take care of the problem. Also, I used to be a veterinary technician and assisted in many declawing surgeries. All I can say is that its very brutal and inhumane. It can be likened to having your fingers chopped off at the second knuckle! They are in severe pain and sometimes bleed for weeks after. It seems that a trim of the nails once a month would be a safe, painless and surprisingly easy alternative to declawing. Another thing, if he accidentally gets out and can't be found for several days, w/o claws, he cannot defend himself!!! I hope everything works out for you two! Erin G. FanciBeast Maine Coons
Q: My dog got ahold of a ball point pen and chewed it up on my tan carpet. My husband decided to leave it alone for three days till i got home. How do I remove a three day old Blue ink stain from light tan carpet? Peroxide did nothing, hairspray lightened it. Carpet spot remover did nothing. I have people coming for the holidays please help.....Thanks Shaye
I would have suggested hair spray, and you said it lightened it, so below are two links. The first link talks about the hair spray, and to saturate the ink stain with it, and what to do next... The other link gives you tips for trying to remove it using nail polish removal. Test this out on a hidden corner of your carpet before using on the stain, to make sure it doesn't pull the color out of your carpet. Best of luck!
Q: cats knocked oil lamp on carpet, contents spilled
Since you have a cat, why don't you try Cat Litter? It is absorbent and can't make it worse. I have no clue if that will work, but I have seen it used for oil spills on roads and such. -maria
Q: To avoid telling you the story of my life, the carpet has ended up being a rainbow of stains, from dog urine, to juice stains, the works. It has so many different stains that are already dried out that it's crazy. I tried to clean them, but it was already too late (I wasn't here for the actual accidents). We hate it! My husband is very skeptical about it. We can't afford a professional cleaner and we seriously need to get rid of all these stains. Will the rug doctor work on these stains? Make them disappear? We don't really care about a deep cleanse, just enough for the stains to go away, when we move out they'll charge us for every stain that there's on the carpet and we don't want that to happen!
No. What MIGHT work is a carpet stain treatment FIRST, and an enzyme treatment from a pet store FIRST. IF the stains are removable, they will work, but the Rug Doctor, alone, won't. If anything, the heat will make the stains harder to remove
