Q:without using a carpet cleaner: For the heavily soiled areas, use a rug stain remover, like Spot Shot or Resolve carpet cleaner. For the rest of the rug, use a cloth dampened with a white vinegar and water mix. It will clean and deodorize the rug. Turn a fan on, directed at the rug to help speed the dry time.

Q:My puppy is basically almost fully potty trained and he messed up the carpets pretty bad of course...it was expected haha anybody know a good carpet cleaning product to clean well and also make the floors smell good? i have a steam cleaner (its a BISSELL) ive used it once to clean the entire area it does ok, but i was hoping maybe there is a better product out there.: As Chris said, Natures Miricle is awesome at getting out pet stains and odors. I also have a Bissell cleaner find that using a cleaner with oxi-clean in it is the best. I usually use regular bissell cleaner add a scoopful of powdered oxi-clean to every tank of water. Works great doesn't change the rug color. Spot Shot is another great product to pretreat before using your machine.

Your best bet is a Carpet Transplant: Cut the stained area out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. Put the ruined carpet piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template. Cut this out and use it as a pattern for the new piece. You want an exact match in shape. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -
