Slip resistance:

Boards of Techwoodn according to ASTM D2394-05. This is the best ranking for bare-foot slip resistance.

Weathering resistance:

Boards of Techwoodn have very low moisture uptake.This is key for mold and mildew resistance.

Q: right now we have a concrete painted floor in our basement and i hate it, the paint always chips. does anyone know what we can do with the floor?: Use an Epoxy floor paint. We just finished turning the basement into a entertainment area. The cement floor had been painted with a brown paint and it was faded and peeling. I went to my local hardware store and bought two gallons of jade green epoxy paint and the floor look unreal. Everybody that comes over for movies in surround sound asks how we made the floor look so good. You can take the paint and have it mixed to any color you choose. I would pick up a paint chip booklet from the local paint store and bring it home and see which colors look the best in your basement. Then have the colored mixed and remove everything from your floor and roll on your paint. Our floor looks like a very expensive floor because the color is so surreal, If you like jade try that color or just pick out your favorite color. This paint covers everything and last forever. We have a really cool place to just hang out now. You can make your floor look new with one coat.

Q: Anthracene `` what the room is now decorated with wood?: The quality of the elephant or the nature can be!

Ikea must sell these as well. They do cheap to a whole new level. Any cheap store I've been in for any reason seems to have these available. Get out there and look. This is an easy find.

Q: I am getting ready to lay some laminate flooring. I am going to replace the bueatiful parquet flooring the previous owners left in the dining room and the linoleum tiles placed over the linoleum sheet floor in the attached kitchen!! (The previous sentence was written with sarcasm!!) I have removed the parquet and both layers of linoleum, and was left with the subfloor covered in dry glue where the parquet was and what looks like floor leveler where the linoleum was. The glue for the parquet is some what even but coarse, the &quot;floor leveler&quot; is cracked and big pieces are missing sporadically around floor where it came up with the flooring.I was wondering how even the floor has to be for the laminate? I am going to be putting down padding, but want to make sure I don't have boards that sink when you walk on them. If you do recomend me removing the filler and the glue, what do you think I should use?Thanks.: The click and lock laminate flooring can go over a floor or subfloor with irregularities. I locks together as a sheet, and is a floating floor. You must be certain to use the underlayment, or it will squeak like crazy, and make certain that ALL the joins are true, with NO gapping or you will have huge problems down the road. If you have two pieces that absolutely won't join smoothly, even with tapping, put them aside and place them with a different sheet. No amount of hitting and yelling will make them work together.

Q: The previous owner of my house painted the cement slab garage floor. Now the paint is peeling off and looks bad. I would like to seal the floor with an epoxy-based sealant. Can I seal over top of the paint, or do I need to have the paint sandblasted off first?: That is a pretty tough one to be honest. I have done some work in this industry and every situation can be a little different depending upon the surface of the concrete you are working on. Smooth concrete with little or no aggregate is a little easier than a surface with clearly visible aggregate/rock. For stripping, start with a commercial grade grinder with a wire brush attached. Don't grind through the concrete but take the old paint off. Using a leaf blower blow all old paint, dust, debris, etc, off. Next, using old rags wipe the ENTIRE area that paint/sealant is to be applied with Xylene (an industrial strength solvent) that is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. Wear gloves as Xylene can be absorbed through the skin and is toxic/carcinogenic. Use the heavy disposable type nitrile gloves as regular latex will deteriorate very quickly from the Xylene. Be certain concrete surface is CLEAN AND DRY. Apply and cure appropriate sealant/paint. There are countless varieties out there depending upon the surface, intended use, chemical and environmental exposure, etc. A word of warning and disclosure, most of the work I did was under the supervision of a foreman and we were fixing botched DIY jobs where average folks tried to seal, paint or surface garages, patios and decks. Often times the highest expense to the customer was the labor cost involved in removing what they tried to apply themselves. I would recommend getting a quote from a licensed contractor who works in the sealants and coating industry first. Make an educated decision from the potential cost of doing it yourself or paying someone who will do and stand by their work....If the paint/surface/sealant fails it will be their dime, not yours. I would go this route myself before doing my own garage and I have done this work in the past. Hope this helps and good luck!

Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages from a 1st floor apartment to a 2nd floor apartment?: heat rises so utility (heating) is lower in the winter. You say you need exorcise well heck those stairs are good for that!! Good view. Dont get noise from downstairs. downstairs you hear people goin up the stairs. Utilities arent as cheap. More breakins. (who wants to climb a flight of stairs to carry down a tv??)
