Q:What is the difference between floor mats and carpets?
Floor mats are small size, carpet is large size
Q:Grease stain on woven rug (due to Bissell fiber cleansing cleaner). Any suggestions?
i exploit a purifier referred to as pink skill on mine, spray it on, or if the stain is undesirable, pour slightly on, then use a sturdy stiff brush and scrub it particularly sturdy. Rinse it sturdy, take a seat out interior the solar enable it dry. It has no bleach in it , it in basic terms is going immediately for the grease or oil.
Q:how to replace part of carpet?
Do you have any spare carpet from when they installed the carpet? You can cut a small section out and match it to the spare carpet, then use carpet tape to reapply it. Or you could cut a small piece out of the back of a closet and use it to patch. It would be a lot easier to just put a nice throw rug over the burn mark though.
Q:How do you keep an area rug from shedding?
Most rugs shed, but they do get significantly better over time. You just have to stick with it. Vacuum it regularly to tease out the bits of fluff that are ready to go. I myself got a new rug on Saturday, but it sounds like the next 6-12 months will be hell...!
Q:nailpolish on the carpet :/?
It is simply amazing how often nail polish makes it onto carpet, or furniture, instead of nails, lol I'm afraid the attitude towards nail polish is entirely too lax... here is why... Carpets these days are made of synthetic fibers.... and when you try to use nail polish remover to remove nail polish, it WILL DAMAGE THE CARPET FIBERS. This results in fibers melting (chemically) or being permanently stained! Nail polish removers often contain Acetone. Acetone is a very harsh and effective chemical stripper -- it will not only damage carpet fibers, but it will also damage vinyl tile, and wood finishes of all sorts. I'm afraid your best bet at this point, is to try to scrape the nail polish out, or have that section of carpet removed, and replaced. A good carpet tech can patch the section for you, but it may still be a noticable patch. Unless you want to make a habit of cutting holes in your carpet, I'd advise a little more care when handling the nail polish, heheheh ;) Good Luck
Q:What can I do to reuse/make a large area rug?
sounds like the rug is pretty much worn out, I think the only thing you could do would be to make small door mats from the areas that are still somewhat in good shape and throw the rest away. Once a material has become so degraded as you describe, there is is no way to save it, plus it only makes cleaning and maintenance more difficult because it is constantly falling apart right under your feet.
Q:How do you keep white carpet clean?
Hi Amanda, The best advice I have to keep white carpet clean or any carpet is to have a no shoes rule in your house. I have been told by many people that shoes can damage the carpet fibers. If you remove your shoes at the door you are less likely to track dirt onto the carpet. Once you remove your shoes you should wear white socks. Colored socks can leave behind the dye on your white rug, and barefeet leave behind oils.
Q:How much would carpeting cost?
860 square feet is 95.5 yards. The style of carpet you want is a sculptured plush, which can retail anywhere from 17.99 a yard upwards to 35.00 a yard. If you were to figure 19.99 a yard, for instance times 95 yards you would have around 1910.00 for only the carpet! You must also take into consideration the following costs: Removal of old carpet and pad- both the labor and the hauling away. New pad. Installation labor costs. Any cost for furniture or appliance moving or disconnecting. Moldings or cove base or quarter round. If your landlord was looking at commercial carpet it is due to the fact that it will stand up to the normal abuse most tennants subject flooring to. I work in a flooring store and I also own a rental. I know the usual life of carpet in a rental and the cost of the materials and labor for my area. In your area, it is likely that your costs would be much higher than here, since I live in a small town. Hope that helps! p.s. without actually looking at the installation area in person, to quote you a realistic price would be impossible!
Q:CARPET ALLERGIES!?!?!?
yes. carpets have lots of allergens in them You could also have fleas in the carpet. Keep your house very clean - dust and vacccum every week. See if this helps.
Q:How to clean out the stubborn stains on the carpet with a simple method
Carpet cleaning method One, if blue ink smudges carpet, use rice to rub immediately, then use neutral detergent, such as washing powder solution. If red ink smudges carpet, use alcohol to scrub immediately, then use neutral detergent to wash. If the carpet has old ink stains, first, use milk to soak the stains, and then use brush to dip milk to scrub repeatedly. If the floor splotches book stimulated spending time couple effect to raise the smoked moxibustion ship oily oil stains, you can use brush to dip strong brine or gasoline to scrub. If the shoe polish, paint pollute the carpet, you can use banana oil or gasoline to scrub, then use neutral detergent to rinse. If the blood pollutes the carpet, you can use cold water to scrub, then use salt or lemon juice to scrub. Don't use hot water, blood with heat will be solidify cement. If the tea and coffee pollute the carpet, you can use glycerin to paint polluted place, then use cloth to dip warm water to wipe, fianlly use a neutral detergent. If the soy sauce, vinegar, milk, ice cream, beverage pollute carpet, you can use a cloth with warm water squeezed after the draw, and then use alcohol to scrub. 9 If fruit stains pollute the carpet, you can use about 8% concentrations of ammonia to soak the polluted place, then use brush to dip this ammonia to scrub. If there is dust on the carpet, you can soak the broom in soap water, then clean the carpet, after sweeping the carpet, with the sweep of the dip, keep the broom wet, and then sprinkle fine salt, and then use broom to sweep, and finally wipe with a duster cloth. Or use water to soak old sheets and wring, laying on the carpet, and then use crabstick to hit, the dust was adsorbed on the wet cloth.
