Q:does any one know where the water pump is located on a 97 nissan altima? and where can i find one, would pep boys have one?
most cars, it is in the front, driven by the timing belt. If you are going to replace the pump, replace the timing belt also (if there is one), as it's probably overdue, and you have to remove it to get at the water pump. Also the tensioner. Replacing the timing belt is a difficult task. If you screw it up, you could damage the engine. .
Q:What is the reason for the overload of the water pump indicator?
If the power is normal:1, the pump is indeed overloaded (at work to see how much the ammeter indicates).2 、 the motor is out of order.3 、 the thermal relay is not adjusted properly or aging.
Q:I need to replace a water pump on a '95 3100 Pontiac Grand Am and am looking for a guide how to do it. Also, do I need to flush out the coolant or can I just put a pan underneath the water pump and let the coolant pour out when I take the water pump off? Thanks.
never let the coolant pour put a pan under the car to drain it if it is clean you can reuse it if it is not then take it to the city dump they will take it for free some aoutopart stores will take it for free but please don't let it pour or go on the drain that **** is really really bad for the water we dirnk , and for the guide on how to replace it it is really simply use labels and plastic bags with labels to identify the parts , i read this advice before replacing the maniffold on my e 350 and i said **** that im not stupid , guess what i did replaced it and everything but at the end i was missing screws and i had some screws extra that did;t fit anywhere , learn from the advice not from your own experince
Q:Hi -- could someone please give me information on how much I should expect to pay for a water pump and to cleanse my coolant system (or something like that) or if it's something I really need to do. Or if I can get the water pump without the coolant system...My car is running fine, just started making kind of a rough running sound a few weeks ago when it's idling. ANY advice is greatly appreciated!
Like the answerers above me the Water Pump and Coolant wouldn't have anything to do with your car idling roughly. The cooling system's job is to maintain all internal engine components at a level, stable tempature. The water pump is resposible for keeping the flow of coolant throught the engine block If your car was was running low on coolant, or the water pump stopped working, the engine temperature would increase, increasing the risk of engine oil breakdown and blowing a head gasket. Rough Engine idling could be diagnosed simply as a throttle bottle cable that needs to be adjusted (adjust to increase or decrease engline idle) or a vacuum hose that is loose/leaking (rubber lines that run from the engine's intake). These would be the first things I would inspect and it is very simple.
Q:im looking at a 87 bmw 325 and the only thing wrong with it is the water pump and cosmetic stuff.. its a cheap deal and i want to know if i could replace it with very little experience under the hood. rate it from 1 to 10.. 1 being as easy as changing your oil and 10 being i would probably have to take it to a mechanic..or jus let me know what you think.
They are pretty easy to replace. I would guess 90 minutes tops.
Q:or how do i remove the water pump?please xplain
You need to get the large nut lose. It holds the fan/fan clutch to the water pump shaft. After you get that off it's all down hill from there.A large adjustable wrench will work on the nut but you will need to keep pump from turning to loosen it. I think it may be left hand thread. It is not on real tight. The book will help on this one.
Q:When we turn our water on in the house it will run for a while and then shut off.. It has been coming back on after 5 0r 6 mins.it used to do this about once a week but now it does it every day we don't mess with any breakers because they don't get triped . We are on well and this well is about 7 yrs old anyone have an idea what could be the problem .. If any more info is needed I can reply..
Your bladder tank is water logged, you will need to drain the holding tank and refill then check pressure, you will probably have to add air to the tank. There will be a shrader valve (the same kind of valve on your vehicle tire, use a tire gauge) near the top of your tank. Check the pressure first, if the pressure is low(there is a tag telling you what the pressure should be) you will probably have water at the Shrader valve. Very common where soil is sandy.
Q:From the days of the laying of pipe line and trouble is far away, two or more people share the idea of a water pump, controlled by the electromagnetic valve, do not know whether it is feasible, attention should be paid to each of the power may be different phase, and it is the automatic control, automatic switching request all big brother big sister what the solution of power. At the same time, the electromagnetic valve is closed to others. Turn on your own solenoid valve StopThe idea is that each pumping with its own power, so you don't have to worry about sharing electricity.
The electromagnetic valve is estimated to be expensive to death ~!You set up a high water tank in the middle of the user. The pump is pumped to the water tankIn each according to the water meter, then according to water allocation total cost ~ ~ ~!
Q:i took off the water pump cover on my 1986 cr 250 and discovered that the impeller wont come off. ive tried turnig it the wrong way and the right way. can someone please tell me how to get it off.
Remove the water pump cover, Now you will see the impeller and it has a little 10 mm(I think) nut fitting on it. Put the bike in gear and apply the rear brake. Now unscrew the impeller with a socket wrench. Take it easy as they are quite soft. Once that is off, you should be able to pry the seal out, and pop a new one in. A good way to get old seals out is to use a screw, screw it in to the seal then grab it with the pliers. You might want to replace the oil seal while you are there since they are so cheap. To do this though you will have to remove the rh crank case cover cause this seal sits in the inside of this cover. This is also an easy job. When you remove the rh crank case cover ( with impeller already removed) the water pump shaft should just slide out from the inside and give you easy access to both seals.
Q:So my daughter's car is an 02 Accord manual with about 127k miles. It's making a squeaky noise which apparently is the belts. The dealer says they're too tight, but are in okay condition. They want to change the water pump and adjust the belts for $750. This seems a bit steep to me. Does the water pump need to be changed if it's working properly? How much should it cost to adjust the belts? I'm thinking she should find a more reasonable shop. What are your thoughts?
Belts can and do squeal. Usually because they are loose and have begun to glaze up. They get a real slick look on the sides. In addition there are several pully bearings that can and do make noise. My suggestion is to find a reputable shop (or two) for another opinion. While you are there, ask what the factory recommended time intervals are for timing belts and water pump on that make and model. At 127k I have to wonder if the timing belt/water pump have already been changed. My last 3 vehicles called for the belt to be changed 80-90k and the pump 100k (if i remember correctly). And as it requires removing all the same parts (on a transverse mounted front wheel drive car like yours) to gain access to either one, shops often recommend doing both to save labor in the near future. As a rule Dealer repair shops charge more, a lot more. Granted they only use factory parts, no used or rebuilt as a rule. The pump is as little as $30 (aftermarket) or more than $200 depending on make and model. If it is located where I think it is you can count on at least 4 and probably 6 hours of labor. However, if like my 2000 Mercury Sable the pump is on the drivers side, in plain view it would only take 1.5-2 hours to replace.
