Q: I think my water pump is going bad but figure id ask everyone to see what they thought. I leak coolant like the first 20 min i drive my truck and then it will seal itself up for the next day or two then start leaking again. It is getting leaked all over the belt and the fan is spraying it all around so you cant tell where exactly its coming from but i checked all the hoses and they are good and im pretty sure its not the radiator. It is easy to replace the belt-driven water pump, as it can be remove from outside of the engine. For the timing chain/belt driven water pump, you need to remove the front cover and belts before you can reach the pump. Drive your car to the nearest dealer workshop and ask the mechanic.

It does get hot now. what other things happen when your water pump is going out does the heater not get hot anymore?: It could be the water pump, but without doing a pressure test it could be hard to diagnose. You can put cardboard or something else to help find the leak. But the leak could be somewhere else than the spot on the cardboard. Best to take to Advance, or Auto Zone and carry some water in a jug to fill it up and use a pressure tester and look and listen for the leak. Could be upper/lower Radiator hose, radiator, heater core, heater core hoses, and a few more that are less likely.
