Q: I was wondering how much is it to get lifts on your car? Because i'm thinking of getting them once i have lilttle more money for a truck.
You can lift it very cheaply by 2 for less than $100 but that is only to remove the rake in your truck which is the 2 difference between the front suspension and rear suspension. You can inexpensively raise the body higher from the frame for a few hundred dollars which is basically removing sections of the body and putting rubber bushings between the body and its resting place on the frame. For close to $1000 you can raise the suspension and thus the lowest points of the truck by 3'. Up to 3 will allow you to install some pretty beefy tires which can give you another up to 2 of clearance. To go higher then that would require something more than $1000.
Q: why do cars have spoilers?
Race cars: the rear spoiler, or wing, keeps the rear end firmly planted on the track. The FRONT spoiler, or air dam, routes air AROUND the car rather than UNDER it, which creates a vacuum under there, helping hold the car down. Race cars can lift up and fly through the air and flip over when this vacuum is removed. Street cars: strictly a cosmetic addition. Few street cars ever go fast enough to make use of a spoiler.
Q: What turns girls on more Lifted trucks or hot sports cars?
From personal experience, I'd say it's my red sports car.
Q: my car was towed but i put the brake on an set the alarm
They can take it if you parked some where you wern't suppose to. Also, they have their ways wkith things. I know with the alarm-if it starts to go off, but the front of the car is lifted up so many feet it will shut it off. Atleast that is what I have heard from many people. If they have a reason to do it then yes. It's like firemen. If there is a fire and someone parks by a fire hydrant then guess what they are going to brake the window and they will not be liable for it. Sorry.
Q: Could the Apollo Astronauts have picked up their lunar car?
Not with their lunar lander when they left, it was far too small and almost out of fuel. It cost a fortune to carry that payload to the moon. It would have cost far more to have taken it on a two way trip, which just wouldn't have been worth the effort, especially since there's no shortage of cars already on this planet. It would have been far cheaper for NASA to just build another one if they wanted one. Anyway, it sits there on the moon to this day, waiting for someone in the future to collect it and sell it as a very valuable antique. EDIT: Ah, I see, you meant physically pick it up, not take it away with them when they left. If the figures given by Campbelp2002 are correct then they could have easily lifted the weight since it would only be 77lb, but as he says it'd be an awkward shape. They had to assemble it there, which must have involved picking up pieces which would have been heavy on Earth. When it comes to lifting heavy objects in low or zero gravity this can be dangerous, the objects may weigh little or nothing but they still have the same mass and hence the same amount of inertia as they would on Earth. This means that a heavy object once set in motion is quite capable of crushing or otherwise injuring someone despite its lack of weight. Performing this sort of work outside on the surface of the moon also carries the added danger of damaging their spacesuit.
Q: In the Army when I am at my barracks do they have a garage for everyones cars or is it just a parking lot outside the barracks. I am asking this because Ive always wanted a hot rod and If I buy one it wont be running at first so I need a place to leave it till it runs.
Cool thing is, once you finish training and are assigned to a duty station, there are car craft centers where, after a short training course, you can work on your car. They have lifts and all the tools you'll need, as well as very experienced mechanics to help you with your project.
Q: I‘ve been learning how to drive a stick shift and everytime I take off in first gear I always make the car jerk fast then it goes slow. What am i doing wrong to make the car have such a shaky start?
Try lifting your whole foot off the floor when you let the clutch out, helped me be smoother when I was learning.
Q: I want to lift my grand prix to be able to fit 24‘s.Any one know were to get the lift from, and how to do it?
Get oversize springs. You ruin the value by doing it, so be prepared to keep it a long time. Not a good look on a Grand Prix!
Q: In Pascals Principle,Why is the A1 smaller than A2,and how does the small force(effort) lift a car? #confused?
The small force does NOT lift the car. The LARGE force lifts the car. A small force acting over a small area produces PRESSURE. ( a moderate pressure ) This moderate pressure acting over a large area produces a large force. At the same time energy is involved if the car actually moves. Energy cannot be created so that we must do a lot more moving of the small pump to give enough energy to the fluid to make the larger piston move a small distance.
