- Q: I have an area rug that my poodle urinates on when she's mad at me. Long story short she did it again while I was out and I didn't find it until it was dry and smelling up my apartment. Does anyone have tips on how to clean the rug myself without renting a shampooer and maybe how to deodorize the rug. I've tried fabreese and the baking soda stuff you leave on the carpet and vacuum up later. they didn't seem to work before so If anyone has anything else to suggest I'd be most grateful.Thanks

- Q: When my carpets are cleaned at first, they are perfectly clean and I have a friend who owns a carpet company who doesn't just steam clean the carpets. After a few months, the same stains seem to re-emerge from where they were before as if they were cleaned on the surface but re-surfaced.I have 2 cats where I have cleaned hairballs, and a lot of throwing up, and I think that's what the stains are from. - what method do you actually use to clean your carpets? since the same spots are resurfacing and thats the area where your cats are then i bet you need to have the actually padding replaced there and probably the carpet as well. you dont want to ever let a pet get too comfortable in one area. they are attracted to their own smell. have that padding/carpet replaced and cleaned. and every so often rotate their area so they arent used to just one area. i know it may not be the best budget wise but with pets having carpet is the worst. tile is much better.

- Ammonia will destroy carpet. Vinegar will do nothing to clean it. This is not about the best cheap cleaning product, it is about professional equipment. If you can't drop $1500 on an entry level dual motor extractor, you have no business doing carpet, because you aren't really cleaning it.

- rent a carpet shampoo machine, mix a 10 -1 ration of water to bleach and give it a go, keep all windows open , then use a wet/dry vac to soak up any remaining water from the Carpet

- Sorry the damage is done, you can cover it with throw rugs or do a carpet puzzle piece. By that I mean cut a piece of carpet from a closet, cut the stain out(same size and shape). Piece in the new piece. Be sure you have carpet tape and an iron. If your afraid to try this yourself a carpet company will do it for you. Won't even know anything has happened.

- Here's the best way: Cleaning a carpet is almost a calling, you must consider many things. What is the carpet made of? Wool, nylon, synthetic materials, combinations of wool and silk and or cotton fibers. It makes a great deal of difference what the carpet is made of, in your approach to cleaning it. If its some sort of synthetic fiber like nylon, for example, forget about ever getting that spot out. If its a natural fiber such as wool or silk or cotton you can clean it First you need a pail, tepid water and a decent sponge or two. Of the utmost importance is real soap, not detergent or dish soap but liquid soap that you can whip into a sort of froth. The soap should be either castile soap that has been grated or the gentlest sort of liquid hand soap on the market. What you need to do now is place some soap in a jar or the pail and make a large amount of froth or bubbles. You will only be using the froth to clean the stain. You can use one of the sponges for this, soak the sponge in the soap bubbles. After absorbing as much material as possible from the actual stain. Don't rub or scrub the stain, just sponge the soap into the fibers with a gentle press and lift motion. Repeat until the spot disappears. Now, the second part, pour a few tablespoons of white vinegar into a pail of tepid water and using the second sponge moistened with vinegar and water, remove the soap on the carpet. Using the same method mentioned above. It takes time and effort but in the end, if you have a carpet worth keeping this is the way to do it. You may have to do this a multitude of times to remove the stains, never leave soap on a carpet, it matts the fibers and dirt is attracted to the sticky soap residue. Try not to use too much force either when cleaning it, gentle is the key, as it destroys the nap of the carpet.

- Hmm.... are you being deliberately simple, or have you never came across geology in school? The correct description for the Earth crust is a rug. As like a rug it's spread over a surface but not tied or nailed to it. We know this today as earthquakes occur when this rug shifts in some places to either level out, or bunch up like a loose end. It has nothing to do with spherical as you're implying. It's purely talking description and not shape.

It's just my style...u can get either of those colors in a couch...like u can get a lilac couch and then have the pillows match the other colors in the rug or vice versa...u can also get different color arm chairs to match your rug and couch...this is definately a great pick! There's so much to do with these colors and u can also match them up with material at a fabric store to make matching pillows, furniture throws, curtains, etc...u can even do flower arrangements to match this and sit it on your coffee table.
