- Q: I'm getting new carpet installed in a home I'm selling. It's not a high end home, just a 1700 sq foot house that I'll list for $400k. The carpet the carpetman recommended to me is a shaw 18 oz face weight, 48 total weight carpet. To go along with it is 7/16quot; 6lb padding. Is this good enough? Will it look and feel nice enough for the people who come to see the house?
- The basic weight of the carpet and the padding suggested is a good combo. The pad and thickness is above the standard to cover any carpet warranties. 7/16ths is the thickness carpet manufacturers recommend and the least padding you can have ( to cover warranties) is 5 1/2#. - Q: Hi. We're currently redoing our spare bedroom complete with new carpet, new paint, and new molding. We've ripped up the old carpet and removed the old molding from the walls. We plan to paint next weekend. My question is, do we install the new molding before or after the new carpet is installed (in about two weeks after painting is done)? Which is the best way to go?

- Q: Okay, a its getting colder ive started rugging my horse again, but theres one slight problem. He' terrified of them. It never happened before, but for the past couple of weeks the only way i can get a rug off him is by undoing the straps and letting him spook while holding onto the rug, and then putting it on i have to have very skilled aim and try to get it on while he is running in circles.This isnt happening because this is his first year of having a rug, he has had them for all 14 years of his life, its just ridiculous, and its not like the rug is different in any way at all. Its not my method of putting on/taking off the rug either, no one at my stable can do it without him spooking. Just wondering though, is there anyway i can desensitise him to this? Or find a better way to get the rugs on and off?
- OKAY: He had to be desensitized to begin with. Just pretend he is a yearling and seeing this for the first time. Let him walk up to you. Then rub him all over with it. Preferably someone holding him while doing that. Then just always have it around him. Anywhere your going, while grooming, tacking, untacking, riding,etc. If this doesn't work, then talk to your vet. Show him how you do everything. See if there is anyway you could be hurting him. Also try not to throw it on him anymore. Think about it, if something was flying at you, what would you do? Stand there. I don't think so!!

- I'm not sure about red kool-aid but I use rubbing alcohol for all sorts of other stains and have had great luck with it. I just pour some into a spray bottle and spray a small area of the stain/spot. (should be fairly wet but not soaked). Then rub the area with a clean dry cloth it should take up the stain/spot right away. Rubbing alcohol is fast drying which can be a great help as well. WARNING... [Be sure to test it in a small area first. It could possibly damage the carpet as well. Tho it's not likely.] I hope this works for you.
