Q:I would like information to use an automotive water pump to ( or possibly another device ) to pump water approximately 60 feet (20 meters) elevation from creek without electricity. I only need enough water for 25 chickens. So we are not talking about a households supply of water.
You need a lot more information than that. My first question is: how do you intend to operate a pump of any kind without electricity? Another piece of information needed for this is how far the chickens will be kept from the creek. Required change in elevation is a factor, but so is the length of pipe through which the water will be pumped. Pumping water farther leads to more energy lost due to friction which means you need a larger pump to maintain the same flow rate. Diameter and material of pipe is also a factor, along with bends and expansions/contractions. Since you don't need exact values for this... the flow rate required wouldn't even need to be 5 gal per day. That's just a trickle of water, so basically any pump capable of pumping water up 60 feet through however long your pipe (probably PVC) will be, would probably be enough to maintain drinking water for your chickens. That being said... if this is near your house, why don't you just run a water hose out there? Put a cap on the hose, drill a small hole in the cap and leave the valve to the hose turned on all the time. You could test it by seeing how long it takes to fill up a gallon or something...
Q:i took off the lower unit to fix the gears. im not sure ill be able to put it back on with out knowing how things work in there.so how exactly does the water get pumped. and what does it have to do with the gears, because even though the prop wasn't turning, the water was still pumping.thanks.
did you put the dot of adhesive on the Keyway to hold it from slipping out of place ? Are the pump plates worn around the impeller ? If you just replaced the Impeller and NOT the whole housing, and plates, that is NO GOOD, you must replace the whole unit.
Q:The diving pump in the aquarium stops and stops on the goldfish
Generally do not close the filter at night, at 56 in the morning when the most likely hypoxia. The sick fish are all fished out. Fast infection
Q:What motor does the pump use?
Pump should use special water pump motor.Pump motor (pump motor) according to the structure classification, should be divided into horizontal motor and vertical motor. Because of the work characteristics of pump starting torque is relatively small, the starting frequency is relatively small, relatively long time continuous operation and other characteristics, so the majority of pump motor asynchronous motor cage rotor or synchronous motor.
Q:My Toyota 2006 Sienna has 80K miles on it and I asked the dealer to inspect the vehicle. He suggested that i replace Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belt and Trans Pan Gasket. The cost of the repair comes to $1300 ($460 for Timing Belt, $350 for Water Pump, $140 for Drive Belt $370 for Pan Gasket).I'm caught by surprise with the price quoted and things to be replaced. Is the price quoted reasonable? Are these replacement common for Sienna vehicle with 80K miles? I don't know what could possibly go wrong if these are not changed for couple of months. I have an extended warranty on the vehicle for 100K miles will any of the above get covered under warranty?Any suggestions or advice is highly appreciated/
I agree with the other two- don't go to the Toyota stealership. They are heavily overpriced. The timing belt service (-which should include replacing timing belt, crankseal, cam seal, waterpump and drive belts) should be more like $600-750. The pan gasket- if you really need it done- should cost you (worst case scenario) $150. All this can be done at any independent repair shop for considerably less than the stealership. Check around though because some independents can cost you almost as much as the stealership. Also, there are shops out there with great prices that do shoddy work- but from my experience, most of the less expensive shops seem to be just as good as the stealership.
Q:Where is the water pump? How do i take it out, and replace it?
Another thing that's good to do is disconnect the battery , plus be sure to check the quality and mixture of the coolant with a anti-freeze tester , also have a container handy so nothing falls on the ground bec anti-freeze is poison to animals if they drink it etc. Hope that helps and best of luck.
Q:If I were to go to a shop, how much would it cost to replace my water pump? It's a 4.0 6 cyl engine.
$70-$150 +cost of pump. Most shops have certain maintenance hours for certain jobs. Call around for exact pricing. Honestly, if you have a sockets (metric) and wrenches you can do it yourself in about an hour or two, maybe less. You don't have to mechanically inclind to replace the water pump on the 97 Wrangler. If you do it, I do recommend buying a Haynes/Chilton's book if you don't really have a clue. If you need to buy the tools, book, pump (gasket should come with it), water pump RTV, and coolant. That will still be a lot cheaper than paying somebody. Plus, you will get the joy of doing it yourself. Also, you could put the savings into a high-flow pump, vice original equipment.
Q:Pump house should be equipped with those equipment and valves
The pump room generally the main equipments used are: pipe, water pump, water pump control box, inlet valve, outlet valve, check valve, pressure gauge, water valve and a water tank, according to the specific design of the pump room to you, just above the pipe segment.
Q:Ok, so I was driving the other day when I heard this quot;clunksound...my AC went out (stopped blowing cold), and power steering went out. I pulled over and one of the wheels where the serpentine belt goes on was off and obviously the belt was off too. I got it towed to a shop where they showed me I needed a new belt - it was ripped, and told me I need a new water pump...all together a 400 dollar job after labor and parts. I was hoping I would just need a new belt and they could bolt back on the wheel...From a chic standpoint, this seemed logical. I know nothing about cars and I'm always very skeptical when I take my car anywhere to get it worked on bc I could be told anything and wouldn't know the difference...Has anyone had a similar experience or does this sound like the problem? I have a 07 honda civic...around 80,000 miles.
400 okorder and the water pump replacement was 273 to 322 dollars. I could not find a price for the water pump belt and the tension-er pulley that is usually replaced then too but piece wise I think the shop is not trying to hose you. Its always good to pay attention however. anytime you lose a belt like that, shut off the car it can overheat quickly and blow a head gasket or worse the motor. Some people just do not understand that when a catastrophic failure occurs and you lose several important functions all at once park the car until it gets fixed. Repairpal takes a bit of getting used to when first trying out, but it can give you some price guides that are right on the money when you are not sure what the mechanics are telling you. good luck pay attention.
Q:my 2003 dodge durango broke down 6 weeks ago. the mechanic put it on the diagnostic machine, and it said i needed a fuel pump and a water pump. well i got the fuel pump changed and he told me if i kept water in the car it could hold out for a little while until i get the water pump fixed. so i kept water in it it's been 3 weeks. saturday night all of a sudden i watched the temperature gauge jump to HOT! I pulled over and it was smoking like hell. i'm lucky a friend of mine drove by at that instant and went to his house and got me antifreeze and water and put it in the car. so it was fine sunday. then last nightafter i got home it was smoking again. i let it cool down and then filled it up with water. this morning i took my daughter to school and then drove to my other daughter's daycare and it was smoking like crazy and there was antifreeze and water all over the ground where i parked. so i left it at the daycare and got a ride to work. should i fix the water pump? or is
