Q:on a 1993 dodge dakota how hard is it to change the front end wheel bearings? how long does it take? i am not mechanically inclined. just tryin to save some money by doing it myself.
Very simple...On 4x4 models this is not just bearings...It is sold as a hub and bearing assembly, just get the correct torque specs from the dealer, when putting on the new nut...The new nut is sold only at the dealership, they are $14 each,DO NOT REUSE THE OLD ONES---VERY DANGEROUS. Remove tire and brake caliper hold down bracket. Remove old nut from hub. pull off old hub replaced hub with new replace old nut with new torque to dealer secs. replace caliper hold down bracket replace rim DONE!! 4x2 models are easier then this, they are just a inner and outer bearing...Make sure to replaced the bearing race also. Same steeps as above accept with a inner and outer bearing.
Q:Took my car to a local shop today b/c I thought I heard a funny noise. Mechanic said my exhaust bearings were bad... He said I needed 2 new ones and they were 150 each plus labor. Estimate of $500 for everything. Anyone know where I can get them cheaper? Or are they always this much? Thanks
You can get them at any auto parts store, or even Wal-mart. They should be on the shelf next to the blinker fluid. There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as blinker fluid either! Get a new mechanic!
Q:Okay so I'm buying 2 80mm/78a rink rat wheels and 2 72mm/78a wheels. But I need to buy some new good bearings that can go fast but arent to expensive. Please leave me a link or tell me what to type in the search bar to find them thanks.

Q:How to replace front wheel bearings and 97 saturn?
This Site Might Help You. RE: How to replace front wheel bearings and 97 saturn?
Q:I cant put them in! I can only put it on succesfully on the inside of the wheel. The bearing wont go in the outside of the wheel(the logo side). just saying i use the method where you put it on the truck axis and press down with your wheel
Do what i do put in the bearing and push it in slightly with your fingers. Then get a screw driver turn it upside down (sharp side facing up) get a hammer and gently nail it in it will stay in and shouldnt even be dented or scrached!
Q:can i install crankshaft bearings without taking the crank out if so? how?
No,the bearings need to come out so you can first clean the crank journal and second measure the dia.of the journal on the crank and the block to see if you have any wear and what size bearing to go back together with, either standard or an oversize bearing.
Q:i was just wondering which skateboard bearings where better. i have been skating ghetto bearings for about 4 years now and i think its about time for me to step it up. this is a question for the pros, which bearings are better Swiss Bones Labyrinth's, Swiss Bones Super Swiss 6, or the original Bones Swiss bearings? And is the difference between them big?
If you ask me, all of them are overpriced and over rated. If I were you, I would try out some Japanese Destructo Sendai bearings. I have been skating with them for 2-3 years and even skated into a pool with them and they havent rusted. They run super fast and smooth, even after skating into the pool with them. I have tried just about every Bones bearing and none of them are really worth the price except reds. The sendais are a lot better than anything I have ever tried. All of the bones are ok, but the only real perk is that you dont have to clean them. Try reds or sendais.
Q:I'm asking this because like every time I googled it, it came up with answers from like 2-3 years ago.. So basically I'm just wondering if it is still not good for them... Also I would like to know what cleaners i should use for mine, and types of lubricant.. Thanks so much.
WD-40 will atract any sort of dirt dust and will slow down your bearings. You should take each bearing apart and place it in something like nail paint remover, then buy some lube from your skate shop! works everytime
Q:I'm a freestyle inline skater, and I've been trying to look for high quality bearings. My current bearings fall under ABEC 5 and another set of SG 7, but I still find the performance sluggish even after cleaning. I've heard of ceramic bearings, and I was wondering if they're any good and if they can last against heavy impact (I tend to do a lot of high jumping). Or are there any other kinds of bearings which can deliver excellent speed and durability? Also, what are some recommended brands (I don't really mind the price)?Much thanks in advance!
Ceramic bearings will not hold up to jumps. They are primarily intended for downhill longboarding and street luge. They would work as a speed skate bearing as well. Go for a Swiss bearing like Pig Swiss or Black Panther Swiss. .
Q:I need to change/ repack the wheel bearings but i've never done it before but I am mechanically inclined enough to do it. Just need to know if theres any secret steps to follow. Any info would be great!!!
The 1993 Cutlass Ciera does NOT have wheel bearings you can repack. They are what is known as Sealed Bearings. If they need grease, you MUST replace them. There is NO way around it. The Hub and Bearing come as an assembly! The job to swap out the Bearing/hub assembly is actually pretty easy. should take around an hour to do. You must remove the wheel, then the Brake Caliper, then the Rotor. then remove the big axle nut. Then remove the three bolts (torx bolts) that hold the hub to the steering knuckle. remove splash shield and remove the Hub/bearing assembly. You may need a special puller to get the hub out from the steering knuckle.
