Q:And if it needs to be replaced, does that spell trouble for a car? I see a car I might like to buy, but the ad says that the water pump needs to be replaced. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks.
did u get a mechanic to do it? or do it yourself? if you had a mechanic do it, ask them to fix it if you had no problems prior. Could be thermostat, could be you dont have enough coolant in radiator or even proper coolant to water ratio. All i know is you need to bleed out the radiator to remove all air after water pump is taken off and put back on, because that can cause problems aswell. ok well you just updated it, so i am too, your mechanic sounds like a dumb ****, he should have bled air out of radiator, the fact he told you is weird, should have fixed it then and there. It is an important step of changing water pump. If there is air in it, your radiator and water pump wont be rotating the water properly. Tell him to fix it and say you did your research and you're not paying another cent!
Q:I have a 1997 15hp Mercury 2-stroke outboard. When I run it it runs great and does what i want it to do. However, sometimes it doesn't pee. I can still hold my hand in the stream when it does but its very very hot. It always pees when i run the motor WOT but when im just chugging along it goes out for a bit and then comes back on. Is this supposed to happen? I was told by my dad that the thermostat regulates the pump so that it doesn't cool the engine down too much. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated
It should discharge water all the time. I would replace the water pump impeller every 2 to 3 years. In this case I think your getting intermittent flow. if the water discharge is steamy that would be a good sign you need to change the impeller.
Q:I just had the water pump replaced, now less than a week later it is overheating again and sometimes blowing cold air. What does this sound like it would be?
Air in the cooling system, or worse yet, head gasket failure.
Q:How do you remove the water pump from bmw m42 engine?
Follow the instruction manual Drain the water first then remove the timing case release the tension from the belt, unbolt it and remove.
Q:I think the water pump in my Oceanic BioCube is going up. What is a good brand that would be compatible? It is 29 gallons. Thanks.
If okorder or just your local pet store and see if you can't buy a pump with a similar/same output.
Q:How much would a water pump cost for a 1991 cadillac deville
A lot!!
Q:94 f150,302 engine. the water pump comes with 2 gaskets. one behind a metal plate on the pump and another for mounting it to the motor. my question is do you have to use sealant of any kind on both gaskets or can you just bolt it on?
use sealant you dont need a ton but enough to hold the gaskets in place
Q:Every year my family spends a week on a house boat at Lake Powell where it can get extremely hot in the day time. I'd like to build a mist system using pvc pipes and mist spray heads to help cool us down.I'm not sure what kind of water pump to buy? I've looked at different kinds from submersible to non-submersible, all with different amounts of PSI and GPM. I am not familiar with water pumps and could use some community insight.I want to make sure the pump I get does not burn out because of the back pressure it will get due to the mist heads only allowing a little water to escape at a time.I imagine my mist system would have 8 - 12 heads, reaching no more then 30 feet from water source to the end.Any pointers? Thanks!
I am assuming your water source will be the lake …. I would be looking at a submersible pump possibly a pond pump but you need to know what the “lift” is going to be …from the point where you string the mister to the pump {possibly a 15 foot lift} and a pump that will give you at least 25psi. Because you are going to have back pressure, the submersible will reduce the risk of burn out. Also you need to build a simple enclosed container this pump can sit in, with at least a 4”water inlet hole covered with mosquito netting, nylon hosiery, or something to filter the water….otherwise you will constantly be removing the mister heads to clean
Q:I need a new timing belt and I'm getting that done soon, but my mechanic says that water pumps are usually replaced along with the timing belt at the same time. Does it really need replaced?
yep replace at the same time better safe than sorry it'll cost more if it leaks later and you need to replace it
Q:How to introduce water pump?
First, to explain the basic parameters, such as pump flow, head, motor power, efficiency, outlet diameter, single-stage pump or multi-stage pump, fixed pump or submersible pump, water pump or sewage pump, deep well pump, self suction pump etc..
