Q: My friend is buying under-wired bras and what are they and the heavily- wired bra?
they just have a wire underneath each cup of the bra. they are sewed inside of the bra, i must say that they are FAR better than regular bras. but i heard that under wire bras can cause cancer if you wear them frequently. not sure if its true though.
Q: i need a definition for wire bending for my art project.
wire forming
Q: I am replacing a regular light switch with a more fashionable looking design. When I took out the old light switch there was a red and a black wire attached. I am used to white and black. Which wire is considered the white wire when I am wiring this switch?
Switches don't require a neutral (white wire) One of these wires is hot..the other feeds the fixture. Attach to the terminals of the switch. More than likely if you look into the box you will see the white wires maretted together for continuity return
Q: I have a wire coming up from my basement that has 3 wires (red, green and yellow). I want to connect cat5 wire to that (twisting the wires together) and run the cat5 to an RJ45 box. What's my diagram going to look like?
if you are using for phone, then you will just need to be concerned with green/red and blue/blue white for line 1 and yellow/black orange/orange white for line 2 line #1 greenblue/white redsolid blue line #2 (not required to connect if you only have 1 phone line) yelloworange/white blacksolid orange polarity is not important with modern telephone equiptment, so as long as G/R=BL-BL/W and Y/B=OR-OR/W then it does not matter if the striped wires are reversed from the list above... seeing your question again.... there is a wire missing, if you strip back the outer sheath of the wire you should find a black wire as well.... but green/red is the important pair for line #1
Q: the ground wire came loose and touched the power wire for a second and created a big spark . the fuses aren't blown what else can i check or fix because the amp won't turn on now.

Q: Hi,I'm trying to install a ceiling light with a 3 wire configuration (white, black, ground) into a wire configuration of 4 wires (white, red, black, ground). This is configured for two on/off switches. So far, I have white to white, black to black, and ground to ground with the red capped off. This works with one switch perfectly, however when I hit the other switch, the circuit breaker blows. Please help, and thank you!
A circuit consists of two conductors not counting the green/bare, but can have more than two. Also a circuit can branch off and energize other things. Thus you have branch circuits. The ceiling box fan probably is a branch circuit consisting of two or three maybe four conductors i.e., black, red, white and green/bare. A ceiling fan will pull a load/current of usually 2 amps but can be a lot more. A 60watt incandescent light bulb pulls 1/6 of an amp, or 4 60watt bulbs is around 2amps. By and far the amount is very low considering most general lighting circuits can handle up to 20amps without any problems.
Q: I'm just wondering would i be able to connect a split 8 gauge wire with wire nuts like i'll explain:Use two wire nuts instead of one and divide the copper wire on both ends and wire nut both sides together with 2 nuts. The whole apparatus would look kinda like this:----lt;gt;---- with the wire nuts connecting the two arrow thingsThanks anyone
8 gauge wire is fairly heavy so I'll assume that this is not a low power application such as speaker drivers. I assume you want to do this because you don't have a proper connecting method of adequate size and you do have a couple of smaller size wire nuts. The proposed configuration would not be acceptable by any electric code for utility wiring for this reason. If one of those wire nut connections should fail, say due to corrosion or mechanical damage, the remaining connection would be required to carry the entire current load that both would normally share. This would no longer be adequately protected by a circuit breaker sized for the full 8 gauge wire. A high resistance point is developed with a high fire risk. Also the wire nuts would not be able to shield the conductors beyond the end of the wire insulation sheath. The exposed wire portions would need additional protection from incidental contact by some future service person. Please don't do this. Not a good practice.
Q: friend i want litz wire in this wire consits of group of enamled coted copper wire(like machine winding wire with multi lead wire),so i want types different guages(that each lead in wiretotal wire guage) and no of leadds.my pupose is for project wire for with standing wire capcity of 20amp's. please give information............................
20 amps is a lot. Litz wire's advantage is for use at RF frequencies, since RF current flows on the surface of the wire mostly. Linz wire because of the large number of strands, conducts RF much better that ordinary stranded wire or solid. Litz 175/40, 175 strands of #40, sells for $15 for 75 feet. #40 is 1.07 ohms per foot dividing by 175, that is 0.006 ohms per foot, about #18, which would not carry 20 amps. Ref has more sizes.
Q: Their is a Shortage in the wire inside the actuall headphones, I was wondering if I could purchase a beats studio wire to rewire them.
Any wire about the same size as the original wire will work. Only if a special connector is involved would there be any reason to replace the wiring with a manufacturer-supplied part.
Q: We bought a used 2004 Chevy Venture that is a cargo style van... it only had a radio in it. So we just bought a Sony car stereo with a cd player to install in it. However, we are having trouble locating the correct wiring harness for the 2004 Venture. We've bought two already for GM vehicles that should technically work for the year of our van, but they do not work. One salesman told us we needed a very expensive wiring harness because it controls the airbags and other electrical gadgets (but they didn't sell it at his store... he said to look online). I've looked online and can't find anything. Would we be better hardwiring it OR does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks!
