Usage and Applications of Wire Rod SAE1008B:

After hot-rolled the products shaped into coil and delivery as finished product, including round, square, rectangular, hexagonal and so on. Since most of the products are round, it is generally called wire rod. Carbon steel wire rod is widely used in construction and manufacturing. Carbon steel wire rod is mainly used for reinforcement of reinforced concrete and welded structure or reprocessed (roberts , nail, etc.) materials, especially used to produce wire drawing, welding electrode, nails,  spring, electronic,  precise machinery parts  and so on.

Q:I understand how to wire sprinkler valves in theory. But in practice, how is it done. For instance, starting at the last valves in the run, the common wire is attached, but in a 7-strand wire, you may only use 3 colored wires or so. What do you do with the unused wires? Just leave them dangling? Cap them off with a grease cap? Then, as you arrive at the next set of valves, do you cut the entire strand and splice, or just cut out the individual colored wires that you need to wire those valves?
well if you have a few extra strands in the cable, they may be used in the future if you add on to the sprinkler system with more valves. or to help troubleshoot wiring problems. no need to cap the unused wires, just cut them and leave them our company leaves enough of the wire in the valve box, to be able to pull out the connection for service. make sure you leave enough wire to service the valves and their connections easlily.. we then wrap the unused cables around the used wires and the connections. keeps the valve box nice and neat, and ready to be serviced if needed. the next set of valves, the best way is to cut the whole cable and splice them back. it is just easier. again, make sure you leave a good bit of wire in the box so you can service it easily. i work on sprinkler systems for a living. one pet peeve is when a connection is not in the valve box, but inthe ground around it, b/c some one cut the wire too short.then i will have to dig up the connnections and repair them, instead of just doing it through the valve box without messing up the customer's yard. and by the way, grease caps arent the best way of sealing wire connections. the best way for irrigation is with the orange wire nuts, and seal them with Dri-Splice. from my dad's over 20 years of expericence and my last few years, this is the best way. good luck and hope this helps.
Q:want to get ready to solderis the fuzzy stuff the wire? or the shiny (positive green and negative red color) the wire? sorry i know its a noob questionlet me knowthanks
wire is metal and metal is orange or silver . The fussy stuff is string
Q:well i've been asking for quite sometime on the correct wiring of a bathroom fan up to the same circuit as my light in the bathroom but i believe i've figured out. but i have a question now about the wire guage.the wire guage in the house is the standard solid 12 or 14 i think(house built in 50's) and the the wire that came with the bathroom fan looks a little smaller or about same size but it's braided .it should be fine to splice the two right?
Yes, you can. Use insulated wire nuts. I always wrap the wire nut and connection with electrical tape. Safety First! Also my parents have house that was built in 1908 and they didn't use a ground back then. Make sure your house has one.
Q:If I knew which wires went to trim, rpms, engine hours,ect... I could follow them. The engine wiring harnes is stil intact, but I dont know which wire goes to each no matter which end I look at. Like I said wiring is no problem, don't know motors.
Look at the guage the sender wire color same color on the Eng.tack is gray, hours meter is from the key switch 12volt red or purple. trim is manufactures colors. Are you wiring the Eng like install if so most are plug in . Unless it's quite old an then there labeled on the Eng.
Q:I recently purchased a used car already wired for an amplifier, however, when I looked at the wiring i found that the installer ran 8 gauge wire and then crimped it to a 12 gauge wire (with fuse) that connected to the battery is this bad? should i change it to 8 gauge? Or does it not matter?
As long as the middle of the wire is not grounding at all. You will be fine. You can run any size gauge wire as long as it connects at each end real good and gets a good connection. The best way instead of crimping anything at all is to get a 100amp fuse where one wire end goes into a slot on each side and a screw holds it tightly. You can run the eight gauge to one side and run the twelve out of the other and thats the best way and safest way to do it so you have no crimped hack jobs on it. -Shawn
Q:I have a phone line with 8 wires that is wired to the house, how do you select which wire to use on a 4 wire phone line?
This Site Might Help You. RE: how to connect 4 wire to an 8 wire phone line? I have a phone line with 8 wires that is wired to the house, how do you select which wire to use on a 4 wire phone line?
Q:What exactly is a quot;Jumping Wirequot;? What are the most common methods of motor vehicle theft? Is there any other option that stealing the keys or hot-wiring it?
Until car makers started having transponder keys in the late 90's you could pull the ignition switch ion most cars with a dent pulled. Then a simple screwdriver turning a small switch inside the steering column started the car. Hot wiring, like you see in movies and n TV shows, has not been able to be used since the early 90's on any car made in a first world country. In hot wiring you find the ignition wires, cut them from the ignition switch or block and then touch them together to activate the starter motor. One step they leave out on TV is that you have to already have another set of wires hooked up or jumped with another wire to keep the car going when the starter is done.
Q:I want to install a single-pole dimmer switch for a series of 4 pot lights in the same box (double gang) as a kill switch for a receptical already installed. There is a 14-3 wire (b/w/r/g) brigning power into the box from the main, and 14-2 wiring for the dimmer and 14-2 wire for the kill switch. How do I wire this? The single pole dimmer has a ground and two black wires. The switch to kill the receptical has only two brass screws on one side.
Before you go cutting any wires, please verify what each is to/for. I am concerned that the 14-3 is not the incoming from the panel. There is a chance for 2 other possibilities: 1) The power is fed from the light fixture (using the 14-3). If this is the case, the black will be the constant hot and the red will be the switched power returning to the fixture. 2) The 14-3 is actually the wire to the receptacle for a half-hot (half switched receptacle). If I am wrong, then so be it. If I am correct it will totally change how this gets connected. If you have already cut that red wire, you'll be regretting it.
Q:OK - I removed my old light switch and can see that there are only 2 wires coming out of the wall to be found - 1 white and 1 black. There are absolutely no other wires that I can see back there. The dimmer switch has 2 black wires and 1 green. I'm really not sure what to do. I tried to connect the 2 black ones to the black one and the green wire to the white wire. I admit this wasn't the smartest thing, but thought I'd try. Got nothing. Any help is super appreciated.
Attach black to black and if it doesn't work just switch the two from the switch. The green is the ground wire. Attach it to a screw inside the junction box.
Q:i changed the sprak plugs wires on my 1990 300e and when i put the car on Drive it vibrates strongly. i kept checking that each wire is in the right place and on. do i need to restart the brain or reprogram the car ?
Sounds like you still have a wire crossed somewhere. Just for the future Change one wire at a time. Hope this helps good luck!
