Me and a buddy took the 305 out of the car. I have a 350 to take its place, but was wondering what are the only wires i need to have a clean engine bay. the old engine has a million wires hooking up to everything. Some muscle cars only have spark plug wires, the starter wire and battery cable. What must i do to get mine like that? i dont care about emissions. what must i change or add to the new engine?
I have an '84 Monte SS and wanted the same thing. Here's what I have: the 2 wires that come from the harness and go to the starter (1 Positive, 1 S terminal), oil gauge wire, temp gauge wire, the alternator wires, the wire going to the distributor cap, and the tach gauge wire going to the distributor cap. That's pretty much it, as well as your battery cables, and spark plug wires. You really don't need to do or add anything as long as it runs and everything works that needs to work, it'll be fine. I'm going by memory, so if I forgot something I apologize, but that's the best of my recollection right now. If you have anymore questions you can email me.
Does anyone know what the wire harness is called that runs from the chassis to the door called on a 1995 jeep gc. This wire harness includes the speaker wires, power window wires, and power lock wires. I have checked everywhere and cannot see what this harness is called.
Its called a wire harness. I beleive it is the main dash wire harness, but you wont get anywhere with that if you are trying to get one from a parts house or dealer, You just have to hit and miss at the salvage yard or digging around yourself and get lucky. But if you can trace the wires to a block connector or firewall connector you will be in luck and just tell them the location of the block where the harness is connected and you should be there, just remember all your options in you truck will have to match the options in the donor truck or the harness wont work for you
Phone wire outside was old is anybody done that, do it your self put a new wire on?, Just curious to know..
Outside wire would feed back to the telephone central office and will either be aerial wire, connected to poles, or buried. Either way it is not feasible for someone other than the telephone company to replace.
I want to connect a fan with light and pull chain only to a box that has the old wiring black and white to the new wiring black,white and green.Is this possible and how do I do it.
Jim W. is spot on. The old wiring may not have a grounding conductor, and the fan would not be grounded. Check to see if there is a old screw in the back of the inside of the box, that is holding down a bare wire. If so, as long as the ground wire has not been cut anywhere, and is still connected, it should be grounded. Any electrician can test it with a tester, and tell if the box is grounded. If not, you are connecting the green to the box, but it is not connected to anything. MAKE SURE THE BOX CAN HOLD THE FAN, and in the installation instructions, it tells you to add large wood screws, through the mounting bracket, into SOLID wood. If the fan is not tight, it WILL wobble..
I have a 2004 mit lancer and im trying to instal 2 sets of kicker rs65.2 door speakers having trouble with the back the wires on the right are yellow and one has a red stripe the other has a green stripe and the left speaker is a solid green and blue wire how in the heck am i suppose to match those up with the black and red the right seems obvious but i dont want to mess anything up

So I customized my guitar, and now I need to wire it. i have a pre-wired pickguard but I don't know how to actually hook it up. There's 3 wires. I have 2 humbuckers, 1 singlecoil, 1 tone, and 1 volume. All I know is that one wire gets soldered to the back where the springs are and another wire goes to the input jack. But there's a 3rd wire and I don't know where it goes. I don't even know which wire goes to what. Please don't post a diagram because it doesn't help. I think the wire colors are white, blue, and yellow. Please help!

Where, online, can I find a (color!) wiring diagram for my 1985 Yamaha Virago 700?My motorcycle starter solenoid isn't throwing because the little wire isn't getting connected to negative -- it might be a connection to the handlebar starter switch, or the quot;run/offswitch, or the side stand sensor, or the neutral sensor, or something else! I need to see a diagram so I can tell what that something else is, and to see what color the wires from all those other sensors are.

Hello, I have a 4 year old Trane XR12 unit. Recently the compressor fan is noisy, and now stops when when under power after 5-10 min. The main fuses and breakers are fine, the fan spins freely when turned, the contactor pulls in fine, the dual capacitor checks out. But, the wiring of the capacitor does not match wire diagrams. Could this have caused the fan motor to prematurely fail?..............................Terminal: C red wire, FAN brown wire, HERM has both orange and purple. Schematic shows the purple wire should be with red wire on common C. The purple also leads to fan.
Hi, I looked at the schematic on-line. If you still have the original fan motor in the unit then you are correct. The center terminal on the capacitor should have the red wire from the T1 terminal of the contactor, the red wire from the compressor, and the purple wire from the fan. The FAN terminal should have the brown wire from the fan. The HERM terminal should have the orange wire from the compressor. The black wire from the fan and the black/blue wire from the compressor should lead back to the T2 terminal of the contactor. Again, that is if the motor is the original motor. If it was replaced at some point in time, the wiring colors can change from manufacturer to manufacturer, in which case it's possible that the new motor is wired correctly. There should be a diagram on the motor to show you the correct wiring configuration.
