Q:i have 2 audiobahn 12s and an adiobahn amp in my 2000 malibu...1. the thin blue wire that comes from the amp to the stereo is connected to an orange wire behing the (stock) stero, and when i turn off the car the amp stays on. does anyone know which wire to connect the blue wire to, so the amp turns off with my radio or when i turn off the key.2. only one of my 12s is hitting, i think ther might be a wire connected wrong behind the stero. since i have a stock stereo and i have a converter hooked up, because it had no rca inputs on it. its not the speaker or the rca wire itself, because when i connect it with a y cable to the amp one or the other will work...i would appreciate it if someone could help.: you have the amp connected to a hot all times wire, you need to switch it to a hot with ignition wire so amp will power down with key off, most of the time red is always hot and yellow is switched, orange is dimmer usually, blue or blue and white is usally the amp signal wire, try changing it to hook it up to the power ant out from your head unit if you have a power ant. or use the cd changer input if your head unit has it, usally blue as well.

Q:im trying to install a cd player i need to know where i can hook up power(red) , constant(yellow), and my amp seems to take alot for remote wire so i need a good source for it too i also have a eq to power but dont know if it will work with the same source as the radio: Before you go through the painful task of rewiring all your speakers, don't. Go to a stereo shop and purchase the amp bypass plug that is available for your Explorer. It will plug into the 2 plugs you pulled out of the factory amp which will allow you to connect your radio to the factory harness in the dash as normal. You also want to use the proper adapter harness in the dash for that. It will be color coded to the aftermarket radio so there will be no question as to which wire goes where. The red and yellow wires on the unit will go to the red and yellow wires on the harness.

The amp power wire goes to battery POSITIVE. The amp ground should be as close to the amp as possible, and be securely screwed to bare metal on the vehicle frame or chassis. The battery negative should be removed while your are making the connections. The correct sequence is as follows: 1) Remove battery negative terminal. 2) Locate and mount the amp. Connect ground terminal to bare metal within 18-24 of the amp using the same gauge wire as the power wire. 3) Run power wire from battery positive to the amp power terminal. DO NOT install the fuse yet. 4) Connect remote wire, RCA inputs, and speaker and/or subwoofers. 5) Check that all terminals are tight and secure and that no strands of wire from one terminal are contacting adjacent wires or terminals. 6) Install the fuse in the positive wire. 7) Reconnect the negative battery terminal. The amp will not drain your battery when the vehicle is off. If the wiring is correct and the remote wire from your head unit operates properly, the amp will only turn on when the head unit is turned on.

Because I need 3/0 wire direct burriedI am looking to buy some extra 3/0 wire and found some on craigslist for a reasonable price..: 8gauge 3 wire means exactly what it says. you will be getting a number 8 cable with 3 wires in it...the best thing to do is dig the trench put the wires in conduit and use 3/0 wire..Will last years longer and you probaly will not have to dig your trench back up in a few years.

Q:How could you relate greater wire length resulting in greater resistivity to the context of home: Greater wire length will certainly give you a higher resistance. Since heat is measured in watts, and watts (W) =I^2R, where I=Current and R= resistance, then if you double the resistance of a wire (by making it twice as long) you also double the ammount of watts lost in the wire. Since watts equates to heat, this ammount of heat will make the wire hotter. If you use an extension lead, and wind it round a drum, it can get very hot indeed.
