- Q:i bought a wiring kit off OKorder it was a bullz 4 gauge kit. and i am running a rockford 500.2 n its rated for 700+ watts. so do you think my cheaper wiring kit is affecting performance? should i go snag up some bigger power wire for more power to run through it or is tht not how it wokrs?
- you should add a capacitor to your system. a 5 fared should be good. it is a reserve for when the bass hits. it's less stress on your alternator and battery. and you won't get the headlight dimming affect when you have it cranked up. ask your local car audio shop. you should be good with 4 gauge.

- are you connecting this to an after market deck/stereo? well if so, it would have been a MILLION times easier to not cut the wires and just get a wiring harness, no need to cut any wires or anything... all you need to do is connect the wiring harness to the car stock stereo harness then plug it into the back of the deck so put your wires back to how they were, and get a wiring harness lol, only 5-20bucks i got mine for 5 off the internet.. my brother got his for 15 from wal-mart and they have them at best buy for around 20
- Q:My father changed out a 3 prong plug to a 4 prong plug and crossed the wires by mistake. So the red wire on the plug was connected to the black wire to the dryer and visa-verse. What would happen to the dryer if it is turned on with these wires crossed? Consequently, my dryer's motor is not responding, however the heating element is working. Was there a short? Did the motor get fired?
- i have seen that problem before - usually its a ground problem - with the dryer itself - look at the wiring diogram of inside the unit - some you have to rerout -
- Q:The house was built in the 50's. Two wires are coming up from the switch and two wires are coming down from the top of the wall. I do not see a third wire. I attached the wall light wires left wires to left wires and right wires to right wires and light stayed on, when I moved the switch it threw the breaker. So I used may combination and the switch would not make the light work. It appears one wire may be white and one black. Help please!
- I think that 'ed' has given you good advice, if you know *nothing* about electrical wiring inside of the average home and about how two-way switching is wired. The two-way switch is designed for two wall switches at different locations from a common light or other electrical appliance to be able to turn the common appliance 'on' or 'off' independently from each other. If you have one of the boxes that a new two-way switch came in, it should show you, with usual wiring installed under the modern U.S. standard electrical code, which colored wires should be attached to which terminal connections at the INDIVIDUAL, separate switches. Ordinarilary the color coding for electrical wiring in the modern residence is 'white' is for the common 'ground'; 'black' is a 'hot - 115/120 volt-to-ground' wire; and the red should be a loop wire to the common appliance. When one of the wall switches is in the 'on' (up) position, and the other wall switch is in the 'off' (down) position, electrical power is furnished to the appliance. Changing the position of either of the wall switches, cuts off the power to the appliance. And changing the position of either ONE of the switches will supply power again. If you've done any wiring before, you should be able to figure it out, but follow what 'ed' suggested if you can, just to be sure.
- Q:why do screen filters have wires with them?
- The wire should connect to the monitor framing. Just find a screw and connect the wire to there. Google for Faraday shield - your wire drains the current from RF energy radiating from the monitor but absorbed by your screen - a concept that doesn't apply to LCD monitors, which don't radiate RF - just to the CRT models. Most CRT monitors have such a shield built-in, so you've wasted your money - IMHO - unless it also provides antiglare. Good luck.

- Chances are the marked wire is positive. For your purposes it doesn't matter a whole lot. The phasing (which DOES matter) will be correct as long as you are consistent with both speakers. If you can remove the front grill or otherwise see the speaker cone directly, you can check the polarity with a AA or other 1-1/2 volt battery. The cone will move forward when the positive wire is *briefly* touched to the positive terminal of the battery while the negative wire is held on the negative terminal. If you see it move back, you've connected the wires in reverse. Don
