Q:I love alpaca rugs but I can't find an online store that sells them, any idea?
Their okorder They have lots of beautiful designs and sizes
Q:A friend wants to order a high-quality Chinese carpet for his office. He wants the carpet made according to his specific measurements so that it will fit into the room the way he wants it to. Do any manufacturers offer this service?
Try a carpet shop.
Q:I have a Chinese rug and the pile is flat. Is there any way I can improve it.
1. Put some ice cubes in a bowl. 2. Place the ice cubes along the dented areas of carpeting or in the spot where a piece of furniture was set. Place cubes about 2 inches apart. (See Tips below. ALWAYS test first, and be especially cautious if you have wood floors under your carpeting.) 3. Let the ice cubes rest on the carpet for several hours or overnight, at least until cubes are completely melted. 4. Allow the carpet to dry completely. 5. Vacuum the carpet in the areas where you set the ice cubes. 6. Carpet fibers should now be returned to their normal upright position. If they're still lying down, fluff them up with your finger tips. 7. Reapply ice cubes if needed. 8. Please read important TIPS below. Tips: 1. ALWAYS test this method first with one ice cube in an inconspicuous spot. Lift carpet corner to see that the water hasn't damaged the under flooring. 2. Be CAREFUL if you have wood floors underneath! Test first to make sure moisture does not damage the wood! 3. DO NOT use this method on hand dyed rugs, antique carpets, delicate or valuable rugs, or on fibers not compatible with water cleaning.
Q:Wheres the chaepest place to get carpet?
I've never actually bought carpet before, but I have shopped for it recently. I've found that Stone Mountain is pretty good. It's got some quality carpet brands for a good price. It's near I-40 on Portland in Oklahoma City.
Q:My cat doesn't understand what can she do with a scratcher--a cardboard thingy we got at a pet store, she pushes it away and goes directly to the rug. What should I give her to keep her off the rug? I tried putting a wooden board for her, but she didn't scratch that either.
Cardboard? Whatever happened to a regular scratching post? There are sprays you can get that will deter scratching. You could also spray her with water in a spray bottle every time she scratches something that is not a scratching post.
Q:I have been searching online forever, I'd love some outside advice. I'm looking to lend some color to my otherwise boring rooms. The color scheme is dark wood, neutral tan walls, sage green(sofa). I have some old club chairs in a light beige sage green diamond pattern, very muted.I've been trying to add color - I've looked at Target, Kohls, Pier 1....I love greens, reds, oranges...If you're in the mood to decorate, would you post me some links of curtains/pillows/rugs you think would do well?
First thing that comes to my head is silver or gray. And you can find window treatments with nice subtle patterns and textures. I am sure you could also find a rug that ties in the colors you have now along with some grays and silvers. I may even suggest popping in some red into that rug too. With accent pillows you can pull out more of the silver and red. I also am a huge fan on mercury vases.. you can find them in the silver family that would look cool too! I have a BA in interior design, 32 year old female
Q:how do you remove a moldy smell from carpet?
Try cleaning it with a solution of vinegar and water. I've used it in my carpet cleaning machine and it takes pet urine odor out, so it might work on mold. I also read somewhere that alcohol is good for things like that and it evaporates rather quickly, so it might be an option if you don't have access to a carpet cleaner.
Q:We live in a really modern apartment- it was once a warehouse and they developed them into apartments with exposed pipes and such. We just got some couches... they are destressed black so sometimes they look really dark brown in the light, but they are black. We have the original oak floors with all the scrapes and knots in the them. We have dark wood for all of our furniture. We are trying to figure out a color scheme for the living room and more importantly a rug that would go. Any advice would be great! It seems that all the colors we like have brown as the main color in the rug and we weren't sure if that would go.Thanks!
Open and airy can soon become dark and closed in if everything you put into a room is dark. There are plenty of rugs that have brown in them but aren't all brown. If the couches look brown work with that. Here's a link to look at rugs. Maybe find one you like and print a copy and put it up against the couch. Good luck!
Q:I'm moving into a house and it is solid concrete, the walls and the floors. we want to install carpet in two of the bedrooms and we were originally going to get stick on carpet tiles, but they were unavailable. We think that traditional carpet installation would be too big of a project for us to handle ourselves and hiring someone would cost too much. So my question is, how exactly do we go about this? Can we just buy regular carpet and install it with the adhesive? Does it need padding? or is there a specific type we need to buy?Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
carpet stores sell rubber back carpet that you can install over concrete no glue needed .you can install jute back or action back with double face tape or glue .. or just lay it down and let gravity do it's job..you don't have to have padding, but it does make it more comfortable
Q:Or do I take it to a cleaners?
I'd do a cleaners as well.
