Q: I have a bathroom exhaust fan with a light and heater function. The Heater has a red and white wire and the fan and lights have a black, a blue and two whites. There is a three switch outlet on the wall in the bathroom controlling these functions. In the attic there are 3 different wires going to the exhaust fan that I can't find out how to connect. There are 3 blacks, 3 whites and 3 grounds. How should I hook the switch to the exhaust fan wires? Please help
Blue, black, and red are all hot wires. Just attach each hot wire and its corresponding white wire to each switches black hot wire and white wire. When finished each switch will turn on the heater, light, or fan.
Q: i want to attach a wire to my new speaker but when i cut the wire taken from my headphone, there are 4 wires in it, 2 are golden colored and the other two are green and blue but the speaker has only 2 points to connect the wires.Someone plz help me.
Just get some speaker wire its not that expensive ; go to Wal Mart where they have the TV's and ask for speaker wire or go to the hardwear store and ask for speaker wire or lamp cord thats polorized for the wire you have twist the two golden wires together at both ends and twist the blu and green together at both ends now use the golden for positive and the other for negative.....
Q: Where would I get a 2001 wiring diagram for a Silverado chevy truck? I want to re-install the factory stereo that was taken out when I first got it? I have no idea what wire goes where. Thanks a lot.
This Site Might Help You. RE: 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 wiring diagram? Where would I get a 2001 wiring diagram for a Silverado chevy truck? I want to re-install the factory stereo that was taken out when I first got it? I have no idea what wire goes where. Thanks a lot.
Q: sence my stock head unit has no remote wire, when I hook the amp up, will it still drain the battery? I have everything connected, but the deck does not have no remote wire, and if it does I have no idea how to locate it. I am worried it will continue to run the amp when the car is off and drain the battery. Am I worried for nothing? If it will continue to drain the battery, how do I prevent this from happening?
If you dont have a remote wire how did you power up the amp? You should have a led indicator light on the amp to tell you if its getting power when the ignition is off. if it does`nt then get a multi meter and check for power at the amp terminals. It will drain your battery, you might be able to run a wire from the ignition, so when you turn the ingition on then thats where you get your remote wire hook up. just make sure when ingnition is off you still dont get power on that wire.. hope this helps.....
Q: I live in a condo and Im trying to wire a new light. When I wire it, it stays on constantly despite hitting the switch. The wiring Im dealing with is as follows. At the switch on the wall, there is a red wire, brown wire connected to the switch. A green wire connected to the box in the walll behind the switch. In the ceiling there is a brown wire, green wire, and a white wire wrapped with an unstripped red wire.Coming from the fixture are black, white, green.Ive tried connected black-brown, white-white green-green but the light stays on no matter what. Also tried white-brown, black-white, green to bolt. Still the same thing happens. Not sure what to do.
Get a volt meter and check the voltage in each wire with the switch on and the switch off, will tell you which wire is getting power from the switch. This wire will then attach to your black. I would try black to red, white to brown and green to green.
Q: My starter I replaced has 3 wires, two red and one black. Where does each wire go? Pictures would be very helpful if possible
The First red wire goes to the solenoid on the fender well right by the battery. the second red wire goes from the solenoid to the starter on the one main post there. the black wire goes from the engine block to the battery on the negative side. All connections must be tight but not not crushing on the battery
Q: My boat came with a rule 500 2-wire auto pump. I have an on/off switch at the console. My replacement has 3 wires. How do I connect the 3 wires and still use my on/off switch?
It all depends on the function of the third wire. The instructions that came with the pump should tell you what it's for. If you're only using the pump with the switch you only need to apply 12V and a return to the pump. The switch could be in either leg, but will normally be in the +12V leg. The third wire could be an earth ground for safety or you might have a built in float switch so that you can apply 12V directly to that 3rd wire. When the internal float switch goes high enough it will turn on the bilge pump for you. Your best bet is still to read the instructions before you install it though...
Q: putting new plug on wire. which wire connectswhere?
If you're talking about a ''polarized'' plug the hot wire (usually all black) will attach to the narrow side. And the neutral (usually with a white stripe) will attach to the fat side.
Q: I have a Trane Heat pump AC/Heat. There are several wires and Im a little stumped? There is a Tan wire*which the book does not show) and a black wire that is labled X1 on the old one but is not in the new ones book? I have also been told NOT TO hook blue wire up to the B port?? But if not, not sure where to put it?
Generally the blue wire is never used in a 4 wire system. There also is no guarantee that the other wires are correct. Making note before you swapped wires sure would have helped. A little late now. This the normal wiring designation. white= common =goes to C green= fan=goes to G red=heat=goes to R blue I suspect should be yellow which goes to Y and is for cooling. Just attach the blue to Y Your new thermostat should tell you if the jumper is needed. Most come with the jumper already installed. Don't forget to read the section on setting the Heat Anticapater. Electric heat is normally set at .7. Gas would be different.
