- It sounds like you have a leak in the AC system and are low on freon. The low pressure switch is cutting off the compressor to keep the system from freeaing up and damaging the whole system. The water pump has no connection at all with the AC system. Call a Nissan dealer and ask for an estimate on the water pump job. Also call some places like autozone and see what a new water pump would cost there. good luck.

- Here's okorder /... If the timing belt and belt tensioner pulley was replaced also, that's the going rate for the job. You have an interference engine and a timing belt driven water pump, so I'm sure they changed the timing belt and if they did a good job, you got billed reasonably. If the belt had broken, you may have had to total the car.

- Q: Question for you. I'm looking for a 12v (no AC converter, please) water pump to drive up to 4 water misters. Needs to run off the battery, without an AC converter (already found those). The pump will pull from a water reservoir and provide cooling relief on hot days through the misters. - Again, I'm going to make you work for this one. Call around to junk yards. See if they have any parts you can use. There's a bunch of Pull Apart places where you can look up online to see if they have any particular part you're looking for. I don't know how much a typical automobile water pump weighs, but I don't imagine it would be too big. Ask around. If you know any mechanics, or just people who work on cars as a hobby, they may know. Sorry I'm not much help in the automotive department. I can put gas in it, start it, change my oil, and change a tire. But as far as the rest goes, I don't know too much.

- I doubt that your motor is waterproof. You would do better to just purchase one of the many fountain pumps all ready available at many home improvement centers or online. They are water proof and have the pump and motor all in one enclosure.
