Q:My Bissell finally died. I used to love Bissell but that was the worst vacuum I had ever bought. I am looking at canister vacuums now. I see the Kenmore has a high rating as well as the Electrolux and the Miele. I want something that will last and has low noise and cleans carpets wonderfully. Any knowledgeable vacuumers out there?: I likewise strongly prefer the upright vacuums rather than the canister vacuums. Much-much easier to use -- rather than having to pull a canister all over the place and try not to hit your furniture. Insofar as brands are concerned, I have 2 Dysons right now ... one for upstairs and one for downstairs. They are absolutely the best vacuum cleaners I have ever had. Have had them for about 3+ years now, and if something goes wrong with them, I would buy Dyson again.

Q:Or does it have to be replaced when it gets dirty ?Even if it can't be washed using water, could I use one of my other vacuum cleaners to vacuum off the dirt ?: I'm assuming you no longer have the instructions that came with it? Google the make and model number there should be onlilne instructions. I've washed vacuum cleaner filters before, but they usually don't work as well after.

Q:I mean, come on! What kinky person vacuums in the dark?: It can help to illuminate the areas under beds and dressers or in the backs of closets below the line of hanging clothes. Also, it might reflect tiny shards of glass which can be difficult to see. EDIT: The areas under dining room, kitchen and coffee tables can be darkened by shadows. The vacuum cleaner light can help spot stray crumbs and dust to ensure a more thorough vacuuming job.

Q:It's 2014 and it doesn't really seem like vacuums have come that far. What's worse, they like everything else on the market are made for the dump. Spend real money on a Kirby that will last 20 plus years cleaning up to 14 inches deep. Call for a demonstration at your local Kirby store. They'll Show You the Difference between Kirby and any other.

Q:has anyone used one of those automatic vacuum cleaners??: Yes, they only work decent on wood floors,and it takes them a very long time to do the job, you can do it yourself in a fraction of time compared to how long it takes the robot to do it and some time it won't get the whole area, justs keeps on cleaning the area it just went over, I think they are worthless, just a novelty devise.I'll sell you mine if you really want one (LOL) oh... and they are worthless on tiled floors.

One more thing, with advancement in technologies they are much more power management efficient. So yes , yes , yes you should have one
