- This may sound crazy but it works, i spilt pink nail varnish over a creme carpet. And i got a sharp pair of scissors and chopped the top of the carpet of, like not must even came of just a bit of fluff and it actually looked exactly the same, no difference at all. And you couldn't see the nail varnish. because it was on the fluff of the carpet. and there was quite a lot of nail varnish spilt.. :S :D

- Carpeting of an entire apartment or house in Russia is rare. We, Russians, lay rugs on the floor or hang them on the walls. Mostly rugs are placed in living rooms or bedrooms, smaller rugs can be placed in hallways.

As for cleaning, my best advice is take it to a reputable cleaner, tell them what it is made from (type of yarn, etc), and ask if they can clean it with no damage. If you want to try washing it at home, use a good rug upholstery cleaner diluted with water in a bucket, then clean the rug by working a foam with a sponge, then using the foam gently rub into the material. Then dry by gently rubbing with terry cloth (towel). I would test a piece of yarn to make sure it's colorfast, first.
- Q: I have a Rainbow vacuum (which, in my opinion, is the best vacuum EVER). - Best kind of carpet, is the type that is easy to clean. My neighbor has very shaggy carpeting, and the result is more bugs, and gunk in the floor, and dirt and stains are hard to remove. Stick away from cotton, wool, polyester, etc. There are specialty carpet stores, check your local listings, also general Bed Bath and Beyond Type home improvement stores have various carpets. For cheap deals try visiting the Flee market or something. Since carpets are personal preference, it is best you feel the texture and stuff in the store for yourself.

- The rug is supposed to be protecting the floor. The exception is when you have cherry floors which darken from the sunlight. Then when you move a rug you have a much lighter area of wood where the rug was. Sometimes the backing from the rug may dull the floor but a quick clean up with soapy water will restore the finish shine. Good luck---
