- Q: At what weight range should a patient (not able to weight bear at all) be lifted by two people instead of one ? at what weight range is it no longer safe to lift a patient without a power lift ? Just want to check the guidelines others use compared to what I suggest.
- I'm sure there's concrete guidelines somewhere. but do what is best for you! If there's any way I can nab another person to help me lift someone, I'm going to do it. It's safer for the patient, safer for me. If you feel like this person's weight MIGHT not be manageable, go get someone else to help you. It's more comfortable for the patient as well. Patients who have lots of tubes and strings, I'll always get help, and always with anyone who is on a ventilator, because I don't want to accidentally yank something out.
- Q: Pascal‘s principle states that fluid pressure in transmitted undiminished in every direction for a closed system. Using this principle, a hydraulic lift supports a 12,000-kg car, supported over an area of 5.0m2. If the input area is 0.010 m2, what force is needed to lift the car?
- From the sounds of it you've blown one of the rear cylinder seals. If you look under from the back at either brake back plate you might see a dark patch where the fluid is leaking out. Wheels and drums off time.
- Q: ok so when i go past 60 mph the car starts to move from side to side could it be something from the suspension or the shocks, best answer 10 points
- It depends what you mean If say the whole car moves from side to side like it wanders or moves left to right as if your steering than that means its probably your front suspension(likely tie rods or ball joints or your car is out of alignment) If your car sways left to right (like your taking a corner too hard and one side of the car lifts up and other side goes down) than it could be alot of things, it will be easily noticable by a mechanic though as your suspension will most likely be falling apart.
- Q: im planning to by a 97 mazda and am 17 w/ a permit for $2200. I need some precationary tips and explanations so i dont get played like a fool here, so can you guys help me out? Like when you buy a used car, what are the main things you look for in the car? and, what are some steps you take? like would a carfax report be enough or does it have to be a mechanic? thanx
- take the vehicle to a mechanic and have it checked out. They will check the oil to see if its burnt or if its leaking and also with the transmission.
- Q: I have a body kit on my car that gets in the way for a traditional car lift. I took it to two merchants shops, one lift cracked the kit and the other shop said we can't do it.Unfortunately I don't blame them too much since I chose a car with a kit, and please hold your opinions on body kits. I'm looking for a shop in my area that may have a lift suited to my car that won't interfere with my side skirts, or a specific name of a lift.unless all car lifts are pretty much the same?thanks in advance
- any okorder has. they also will help you with all your problems and help you choose the right parts for your tires and rims.
- Q: We have a Rotary two post car lift that is leaking hydraulic fluid everytime you lift it high. once it gets to a certain point it squirts fluid out a pressure relief valve. whats wrong and how can it be fixed?
- Think a repair kit should be fitted by a pro

- Q: Ok so I have a 2001 Volkswagen jetta glx vr6 that I recently changed the clutch on everything works but I can‘t go into 2nd or 4th gear but all the outher gears work so I was wondering what could be wrong
- Possibly, the shifter cables are out of adjustment, since they were disconnected from the transmission when the trans was removed to replace the clutch. Readjust the shifter cable turnbuckles. There are several articles on Vortex on how to do that, also on YouTube. Its simple to do. 1. Apply the park brake. 2. Put the gear shift in neutral. 3. Open the hood, locate the shifter cable ends/turnbuckes and disconnect them. 4. Locate the adjustment pin on the transmission shifter shaft assembly. It is an L shaped pin in the front and directly on the shaft bearing cap. 5. Manipulate the shifter shaft by hand and twist the pin into the shifter shaft to lock the transmission in neutral. 6. Inside the car, lift the gear shift boot and cover off the center console. 7. On the gear shift shaft, there is a tear drop with a hole in it at the base of the shaft near the ball. There is a corresponding teardrop and hole below the first one. 8. Use a drill bit passed through both holes to lock the gear shift in neutral. Apply some tape around the drill so it won't fall through the holes. 9. Go back under the hood and adjust the shifter cable turnbuckles to the transmission. 10. Release the set pin from the transmission shifter shaft, and the drill bit from the gear shift. The gear shift is now adjusted to the transmission and all gears should now be usable.
- Q: I wanna wash my cars motor and my plan is to spray degreaser on top of the motor and let it sit about 3 min. Then presure wash it. I wanna know if there is something i have to take off so it wont get wet. Are there any pros/cons if so can u name them. wat ways do u guys recommend me? Thanks
- Don't get the fuse panel or the alternator wet. A pressure washer could push water into where you don't want it. What's the matter with a garden hose? Why on top? Put the degreaser on the grease, and on the paint all around the engine compartment. I used to have my engine steam cleaned in the 70's. I don't think water is so great for engines now that there's so much electronics involved. May as well do your PC computer tower with then pressure washer while you're at it. I clean the paint around the engine with detergent, and put armor all on the black plastic parts. Cleanliness is next to godliness except under the hood.
